I’ll also say, I’m not impressed with the Noise level the L1 makes. It’s running at 40% and I can hear it in the house at night. It’s not loud just a steady spools whine of it doing its thing. Makes me want to see if my S2 can handle the return, I know it was silent. Though it only ran at 4% ha

We’re almost 24 hours into adding the fish, everyone’s out and about especially the yellow tang and chromis.

Had a close call last night. I randomly came downstairs at about midnight because I was awake and thought I heard my return being weird. When I arrived downstairs everything was fine so I peeked in at the tank and all of a sudden I hear a droooop...SPLAT. My pink spotted goby flew out the tank onto the floor. Luckily I was there and plopped him back in.

Now I have extra netting over the tank until my clear view lid ships.

So far things are looking great! Fish are settling in. Xenia isn’t thrilled and is kind of melting.

Loving the side view.

Floor is finished trim is painted. Room looks great! Waiting on my Clearview lid that should ship in the next week or two!

I did have to move a clown out of the tank into my nano. He was getting bullied into a corner by my other clown. Weird bigger tank and now he beats him up. Clowns are A holes

Had an early morning prepping for my trip to Alaska, was able to sneak in a small controller board for upstairs since the hydros and stuff is in the basement.

Hopefully return from the trip with some local corals!

Productive day!! Got the controller box all set up just waiting on the wall mount. Also just needs the InkBird and doser moved over when I shutdown the old tank!
Also got the new stand up, I like it seems sturdy. The pvc top doesn’t square up with the actual stand so I have the front lined up and the back corners have an overhang and the other one is slide in about a quarter inch.
Your controller box, is that an IKEA modified piece of furniture?

Ya it was going to be but after plumbing the door wouldn’t open enough so I’m going to use it for something else
I was thinking of doing same thing, could you possibly put what components you used from IKEA. Also planning on putting a fake wall inside cabinet halfway in to separate controllers and power bricks

Heres the linK. There’s a few variants you can get. Ones deeper. Ones taller.

Here’s one of the glass doors

I suggest ordering a cleat type wall mount if you go that route as the ikea mount is junk. I reenforced the back with my own wood as it’s made of the ikea particle board

Yes that’s the exact one I’m looking at. Being it is 23 5/8 wide, that is exact width of my stand so it will sit next to it on ground seamlessly, at least in theory it works out, will see if it does in practice

Small update.

Added a Tomini Tang about 3 weeks ago, my yellow tang gave him some fin but they seem to be grazing buds now, I actually see my yellow pick more at algae because of adding the Tomini

Clearview lid will be here Saturday! They emailed me two weeks ago confirming before they cut my lid... that email went to junk mail and didn’t see it until a few days ago ugh! BUT it’s coming!

Also picked up and extension for my Hydros ATO which works perfect.

Ordered the new Tunze Strong Care Magnet. I will say on first use it’s the best glass cleaner I’ve ever used, super easy to move and cleaned glass well. Will have to judge when I scrape coralline one day. But it moves so easy across the glass and doesnt pick up sand!

Little Front shot Friday! And side shot! Diatoms were in full bloom on the sand, did my first larger water change and sucked the sand. Also added some corals a week or so ago some basics, bam bam zoas, neon toadstool leather, and some fireworks polyps. All doing well, the fireworks are closed up currently someone knocked them in the sand....

Tested yesterday
ALK 7.9
Phos.04
Pleasantly surprised with the phos being spot on, the ALK I’m aiming for 7.5-8. Dosing 40 ML of soda ash a day.

Went on vacation to Destin FL, took a drive up the coast to Panama for a wild dolphin tour and something amazing happened! Apparently its very rare this sort of thing happens, usually they keep swimming below you when you get in the water.

meh..

Got a cleaner shrimp today. acclimated it, popped it in the tank, shock instantly died.

LFS let me bring it back.

Brought back the second one. floated the bag in sump for an hour, then added tank water a little bit at a time for another hour. scooped him into a cup of tank water plopped him in the display. watched it swim to a rock and do shrimp things. hour later dead. what the heck..

Some fun news today! Thanks to Salgado Aquatics I was able to get ahold of a befutiful pair of Swallowtail Angels both male and female. Let me tell ya, the male is FAT! I was not expecting them to be this fat especially for the price! The Male has claimed the big arch area as his spot to swim and the female was chased some by my Tomini tang but has since found a spot in the rock to call home and as the day has gone by the tang seems to have gotten over her.
