Can you get a picture under white light? Also, is it on the sandbed?

I don't have the answer for you, but don't you wish you could fast forward about a year to a nice mature tank? I know I do.
Oh god yes! Especially bc I came from this
I thought I was the bomb for creating such a thriving nano sps Reef and now I feel like a failure lol. Plus I haven't bought coral in 2 months! I'm dying!
To basically starting over.
I'm thinking this is a type of green hair algae. It's to filamentous to be anything else. At 80 gallons I would start looking into herbivores. Snails, fish, urchins. Pack it full with a clean up crew.
You can look into a tomini tang or a foxface. Keep in mind they don't have to be permanent solutions. But some hermit crabs and a bunch of small to medium size turbos and margarita will help too.Thank you! I've heard that urchins will eat coralline algae though, so I don't want that. Can you recommend a good fish that will go along with clowns, a Midas Blenny, YWGoby, 6Lwrasse,chromis. RoyalGramma.
I did try a convict tang but he died unexpectedly after a few days in tank.

Have you tried turbo snails?

You like the colorful pin cushion urchins. Pretty animals. I think they eat corraline mostly when they run out of other foods. A little becuse I'm sure they need the calcium. Mine was never that aggressive in corraline in the 55.
And yea more turbos.
Wish I knew more on what was fueling that.
Is the travertine sealed?
An odd fwiw. I've had a couple algaes (dictoya most notably) in my tank that have always been mostly dormant and only appeared in a couple tiny spots. I switched over from ESV to TM and the dictoya really really likes it. So does the pink coralline btw. Nutrients have not been any different than before. Lower in couple cases. This is in both tanks.
That's crazy stuff man. I got the red cotton candy a while back (right after getting rid of the bryo, joy), inkinda let it run its course. Then when I hit it with the tooth brush it didn't come back to those spots.
Really weird.
Your corals still look great despite a few new tank uglies.
Can you post a pic of those acans under white lights? I'm shopping. Thanks! Lost a bunch and they haven't quite colored up like they were in the biocube but I have faith they will get there.

Lol thanks but that's ok. I don't hate mine, I'm just frustrated with it. It too is necessary for the reef.If it would make you hate yours less I can show you my cyano.
