These are some observations I've made over the years; feel free to add your own:

1) Sometimes, a coral frag seems worth the price you pay until you own it. After that you think to yourself "what did I see in that coral the caused me to spend X dollars?"
2) No matter how many corals you have or how colorful they are there is always another one out there in someone's tank that you've got to have.
3) If people comment on your corals and ask for a frag, you sometimes wonder what they see in the coral. I call this the "saturation" effect; you've looked at the coral for so long that it no longer holds the appeal for you it once did.

These are my personal observations and may not reflect your opinion. Again, please add a few of your own for discussion.

Mine is no matter how close you match the lighting or other factors coral never look the same in my tank as they do where you purchase them. Sometimes they look as good or better but never exactly the same.

It's all about the journey.

Nothing good happens quickly.

If you couldn't stand in an open field and release a $100 bill, this is the wrong hobby.

Few of my favs.

Haha I've thought the same about all 3. I even think the same thing about equipment sometimes and fish, if only I would have bought that one and not the one I did end up buying haha. Well except for my black clowns, going on six years with the one and don't want any other kind of clown!
