Hi everyone,

I need some advice on reducing a 2" drain line to two 1" drain lines for installing two Clairsea SK-5000 roller mats onto my system.

First, has anyone used the Clairsea SK-5000 on a 300-gallon tank? How did it perform? Was a single SK-5000 sufficient, and if so, did reducing your plumbing to 1" cause any issues? Are there any other roller mats you'd recommend for larger systems?

Additionally, I have a remote sump about 15' away from the tank. With the increased length of the drain line, would reducing the size of the drain line at the end pose any potential problems? Any insights or experiences you could share would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks in advance!

I’m not sure how to split a drainage pipe to get 1/2 into one side and the rest in the other?

My tank has duel drains + emergency and all the water goes into one side? It started out in both drains but eventually it all goes into one side.

Not a solution, just some discussion about the projects challenges. It will be interesting to see how it goes.

There is also a Diverter valve (one in and two out) for mixing fluids....not sure how easy to control output equally though.....

Wild one 2 1" reducer, a 1" T and two ball valve's.......
This makes sense, the trick is adjusting the valve(s) to keep it balanced.

I have a good acquaintance who always says; “Ever since the fall, man has struggled to maintain balance.”

By splitting a 1 two inch line into 2 one inch lines, the water will attempt to balance its self out. This has a lot to do with pressure. As more pressure is built into say line 1, line 2 will take the extra. Because you are staring with a 2 inch line, it really should balance itself out fairly equally.
