So Sorry Rich, I went through this exact same thing 3 years ago with someone I’d known since kindergarten. Not a motorcycle but a car wreck at 39 years old. if you need/want to chat shoot a text.

*The more I think about it...It was two weeks later I got my first tank and very much a part of what lifted me out of a deep depression.

Thanks so much for sharing and for the comforting words... It has been a week from h e double hockey sticks.

Sending you a big hug, Rich.
Sorry Rich, it sux and take you time, we'll be here.
So sorry Rich to read this

Best wishes

Thank you all.

So I'm prepping for QT acclimation, emptied the pvc and decor... and I find my sand shifting dragon goby floating across the bottom. Breathing but barely. :( it's just not meant to be... me and sand sifting gobies. This is the 3rd one I've lost. No spot, no injuries, fins were perfect... just, skinny.

Weird... cuz he ate everyday, I watched them eat, plus he dusted the entire qt with a layer of sand from the Tupperware I had in there for the wrasse and him...

Sigh... I left him in the QT and the other fish were already in the SHU box I won from Octo Aquatics when I realized it.

Nerves are shot right now worried that I might have just set something free in my DT ;Rage

Doesnt look like hes gonna make it. Time will tell. Sigh

The other fish are done dripping. And then I see this, curled up in a ball like a millipede under the pink volcano decor piece.

@Fudsey is this what u have in ur system?

Idk how it got into my QT, or what worm it is, tossed it back in the qt till I decide what it is.. unless it hitched a ride on the Hawaiin Feather Duster that's still in there...? Hmmm...

Sucks about the goby :( any treatment options?

Theres no sign of anything. I've watched some of these fish for almost 60 days now. Besides looking malnourished, sadly, there is nothing to go off of. I will inspect thoroughly if the goby doesnt make it.

Incredibly happy with this SHU Acclimation box thus far. Big shout out to Octo Aquatics. And @cromag27

Enclosed magnets are strong enough to take off the tip of your finger. I can mount this thing anywhere. Threw some macro and a vinegar-scrubbed/rinsed Tupperware half full of sand..

Also Some shells and rubble to help with comfort upon introduction. I am thinking about 3-5 days should be enough.

Gizmo napping below.

Frag rack update. The acro in the back is like... Nooooope. But the Stylo and bonsai look good so far..

Dont mind the chunk missing from the frag rack ;) but it has some serious corraline growth.

Not much changed over the weekend with the tank.
But I have recieved my SHU Acclimation box by #octoaquatics and @cromag27
Gonna be a battle to not bring the fish out of QT early :D

This thing is sooo sweet. Acrylic encased, top-shelf magnets, acrlyic molded 'click in' latch for the lid. And a lifetime guarantee? Touchdown!

  • Hang the new refugium light
  • Gyre maintanence
John will be over tonight to drop off some chaeto to go with the light courtesy of @Scurvy

Thanks again sir
That SHU is awesome! I was very impressed when I received mine. Definitely quality.

I will catch up on posts soon.

I lost a childhood peanut butter and jelly cousin. Inseperable. Tragic motorcycle accident.

I will be back when I'm ready. Too much to handle and deal with at the moment.

Thanks for those who have reached out so far, your thoughts helped.

He and I spent every summer together. Did it all. No TV. I wrote a piece and spoke at his service. Maybe I'll share when i am ready.

He is the red head, we are 8 months apart.
