I think the issue on this is the fact that most of these are imports and not necessarily tank grown acros which would allow for lineage and consistent naming of the same coral. Given they are wild caught and important, there is no way to know if these are actually the same corals which an identical name would suggest. I am actually amazed that they have not ran out of names.
I'm fairly new to reefing and found this out as well. I started cycling my tank last October and added the first residents in November. My first fish a yellow watchman goby and pistol shrimp are from AquaSd. I bought my first corals from ASD on their black Friday sale (one of which was an "awesome Aussie leather". Long story short, most all of my corals are from ASD since I'm 15 mins away and currently at 30 pieces. I found this amazing app called Aquarium Note 2 on the Google play store that lets me track my aquarium inhabitants. This screenshot includes my leather from ASD (I've been lazy and haven't added my Lunar New Year additions or others from walking in).

How long have you had it?

I killed the last nem I had, scared to spend money on a nice one.
That is why sales are a good opportunity. you can get one for a discounted price and you get to see if it likes your system. If it lives you can get more, if it dies you do not take that much of a hit!

The clownfish demand the addition of another scoly to their lair.

I do not argue with him because he is mean and I am scared of him.
At the shop we have both ends of the spectrum, we have a super nice clownfish almost like a golden retriever lol. Then there is another one who is the whole opposite!!! One is a dream, the other one is a nightmare....
