The anemone is still coming out of its crevice it hides in at night. As it was doing so I got a glimpse of the mouth. It was still gaping but I could see the mouth almost closed then going back to a larger gaping. At its peak the gaping was half the size of a dime. Of course it wasn’t out all the way at that point and it might go back to gaping again.Still I would say it’s a good sign things are headed in the right direction, even if it goes back to gaping today. This is the first time I’ve seen the mouth this closed since last Monday afternoon. When I put it in the DT the he mouth was closed for about an hour or so then went back to gaping.
I noticed in a small video I took of the nem during temperature acclimation that it was gaping a bit. Of course the nem was well taken care of before I got it but it was in the bag for an hour or so before I got it; then it was in the bag for three hours afterward during acclimation.
I’m going to call the LFS to see if they’re open so I can get my water tested today. My corals look good, in fact I think they appreciated the extra ALK.
I’m hoping in April or May to get my next Hanna checker. I’m going to get the ALK checker next. Then I’m going for CAL, MAG, N, and CU, in that order. I’m going to get a pH and ORP controller. It also measures temperature. I doubt I’ll ever dose ozone but there’s still a chance I change my mind. It’s always good to have tools in place however just in case.
