Anyone in the CSRA area have a par meter I could rent or borrow? My single lfs doesn’t own one and I’ve searched on here, humble.fish, and Reddit for par readings for my light with some luck but I would really like to fine tune the light settings for my tank. Thanks in advance!

Sorry for my ignorance but where is CSRA area?
Pretty much where Georgia and South Carolina border each other around Augusta area.

If you’re willing to drive that far are you sure there isn’t another LFS within that distance?
The only one I haven’t checked and it’s the furthest is Queen City corals. If they don’t then I’ll just have to get my own and I definitely not heading towards Atlanta driving lol

BRS has a rental program for PAR meters, but you still have to have a pretty good chunk of change to float while you use it. They essentially make you buy it ($532) and then have a 60 day return policy with $100 restocking fee. They expect you to use it and return. So its basically a $100 rental with $432 safety deposit.

Yeah that’s the only caveat is that 500. If I had the money to buy one, even for renting purposes, I’d just buy one cause I know I’m gonna set up another tank eventually

Atlanta is surprisingly lacking in reef stores. Try Charleston area.

Have you looked into getting the VBR-Aqua?
It's still around 150, but it isn't 500 and you get to keep it.

@telegraham compared it against the Apogee and the older version is close to same, the new version does need a correction multiplier, but telegraham got you covered here too, and have it posted on his instagram.

Just thought to put an alternative option out here.

@90guzmanj I just bought an Apogee that arrives in a couple days. I'm going to use it and then it's available for anyone who needs it. I'm relatively close to you, in the Auburn AL - Columbus GA area. If you're willing to come get it and put down a deposit so I know you're not running away with it, you're more than welcome to use it. Feel free to shoot me a PM or reply on here.

Yeah I’ve seen the review video that KalamazooReefer did on YouTube. After taxes it comes out to $170 so I’ll be grabbing it soon

I appreciate reaching out to help but I’m gonna get the vbr-aqua off Amazon
