Osmolator 3 - does it have a solenoid built in to prevent siphoning?

Considering this unit for ATO. If my top off tank's water level is higher than the sump, will it siphon when the pump turns off. The reason I am asking is the Hydros ATO has a big red note stating that you should never have the freshwater vessel above the sump. Would the solenoid do the trick? I guess I could create an anti-siphon loop. If you have one how do you like the unit?

Thanks
Dan

It does not have a solenoid and will create a siphon. You could add a float valve to the end of the water line and as a bonus you then have an added layer of fail-safe in case the osmolator system malfunctions and gets stuck on. Or you could mount the water line higher up in the sump, or even to the top of a piece of PVC or rigid airline sticking up out of your sump.

I have the original but put a tee in the line with a check valve. When water pumps it pushes against the check valve(the tee'd section) and water flows. When it shuts off, if by chance it starts a syphone, the check valve opens(sucks in air).

If you don't mind utilizing any solution, you can run the ato line higher than the sump and feed it into a piece of pvc as mentioned by formulator.
That's a sure fire way of not back siphoning into the reservoir or gravity siphoning into the sump.
If the pipe is placed into a high flow area then it doubles as a great dosing spot as well (both my ato and carbon dosing go into the same standing pvc pipe)
