OK, so a duo of banghai or a trio of blue eyed? I like them too, but I can't recall seeing them at my LFS. I guess I could ask them to order them for me.

Thanks for the basslet suggestion.

Most blennies are jumpers, right?

If you can get past the first couple of nights, most blennies should choose the rocks rather than jumping when startled.

Hello I am new to this hobby but very excited. I am trying to be patient and refrain from diving in or doing any impulse purchases. I have a 200 gallon dt that has been running for 6 months. I currently have:

2 clowns hosting a bta
2 firefish
1 naso tang
2 peppermint shrimp
1 fairly large clean up crew consisting of different snails, crabs, and cleaner clams
1 large toadstool leather
2 torch corals
Many zoas.

I would like an active fish that is reef friendly, colorful, and will add more life to my tank. Thanks in advance.

In a 200g tank you have a lot of options for a 'centerpiece' fish.

Personally, I favor wrasses and flasher and fairy wrasses are completely reef safe.

Genicanthus angels are reef safe, large, and can be quite stunning.

Many tangs would work as well. Yellows are common, but beautiful nonetheless. Similar in care but a little less common are purple tangs.

Few things add color and activity than a group of anthias. Dispars are hardy for anthias, very peaceful, and readily available.

There are plenty ofother options too, but these were just a few suggestions.

Thanks I will look over all of these options. Are there any other schooling fish that may be an option?

Many of the cardinals are social, though not bangaii's.

Green chromis have done well in groups for me, but others have reported aggression.

Zebra, scissortail, and blue gudgeon dartfish stay in groups.

Sorry I was also going to say I have 8 green chromis in the same size tank as you and are all doing well I think the key is with a shoal is to have plenty of room and hiding places if one starts getting picked on

Clownfish from QT doing great.

ready to add the next phase of fish:

I have 5 in mind, will I be able to get all 5? Probably not, but these are the 5 I have in mind.

Tank is a Biocube 29, with currently a tunze 9001 skimmer. The skimmer will be upgraded to an Aquamaxx HOB-1 with an In Tank Media basket (Floss, chemipure, carbon (or something of the sort). I am also going to be making a screen for the top (in case I have jumpers).

Purple or Red Firefish
Tailspot Blenny
Royal Gramma
Pink Streaked Wrasse
Citrinis Clown Goby

Any of the fish on that list will work. Add slowly, check your parameters, and you may be able to get them all in there.

I have a Cirrhilabrus pylei in a 20 gal QT that I feel very good about health wise, only difference I've seen is since he became only fish in QT its become more reclusive, other fish in with it was very active. It does eat twice a day and I will occasionally see it out and about, not much.

I currently have a carpenters flasher wrasse in my 125 DT and was wondering if I added the pylei now if adding a Cirrhilabrus Cyanopleura and Cirrhilabrus Rubrimarginatus later would work? The carpenters was picked on by the pylei in the 20 (was told 2 small for both, also pylei was 1st). Had this wrasse list checked and okay'd, it's just I have the pylei ready to go and the others not in hand yet.

To move or not to move is the ? I have

C. pylei can be rather aggressive toward other flasher and fairy wrasses. He will definitely be more bold with other fish. However, it would be preferable if he could be added after the others. Since you don't even have the others though, adding the pylei to the tank is fine. Just try and acquire the others simultaneously and use a social acclimation box upon introduction to the dt.

Ty! I've been looking at boxes, is there 1 type that is better/preferred than the others? Thought about a plastic critter box.

The critter boc will work, but make sure the wholes aren't sharp. A soldering iron is better than just drilling holes. If there is an acrylic shop near you it is possible to spec a box. Reefgently makes a small one.

Got this and am thinking of using a soldering iron to add some holes, l 7.13, w 4.38, h 5.5 (on label). Would this be to small to use as an introduction box for fish no bigger than fairy wrasses?

That should be fine for fairy wrasses.
