Thanks.

I'm also trying to get the other wrasses as females, if that helps with the pylei situation at all.

Have some good news, I haven't moved the pylei yet, bad news I'm anxious and excited with no clue what to do lol. I'm picking up Saturday at noon hopefully Cirrhilabrus Cyanopleura and Cirrhilabrus Rubrimarginatus, as my LFS told me they had 2 of the 3 fish on my list in, only other is the squaretail Bristletooth tang, and maybe a pair of clowns (not on a watch for list as they have many types)

Suggestions on smoothest transition here would be much appreciated.

I would say put the pylei in the dt and when the other wrasses are ready add them simultaneously utilizing a social acclimation box.

I have a 40 gallon tank with various fish and one of them is a yellow watchman goby. Can I also keep a diamond goby in the same tank. I really love how those diamond gobys sift sand. Thanks

The two fish are compatible, but the possible issue is the diamond goby's eventual size. It may work, but there are smller gobies, such as rainford's and hector's gobies that also sift sand.

I also have those two fish and as long as the watchman is female it is good because diamonds are a girl's best friend.

I have seen Pahistan butterflies kept with sps without issue, but I have not seen it attempted with latticed butterflies. My concern would be that some butterflies are specialized sps eaters, but I am not certain if the latticed butterfly is one.

They are not as bad as some other species of sifters, but anything on the sand will likely get buried.

Thank you and Evolved for helping out!

The Rubrimarginatus and Cyanopleura are in and eating and out and about. The rub is a good size bigger than my others but the colors are amazing. The cyan stays close to the rub, is the size of a firefish roughly but thicker and the colors are beautiful.

I need help deciding what fish I can add to my tank. I have a fowlr 30 gallon tank 20x18x20" with 2 ocellaris clown fish and a bicolor dottyback. The bicolor dottyback is agressive. What fish can I add that won't get bullied and is small enough for my tank?

Starki, talbots, rolands, and azure damsels are sturdy enough to stand up to a dottyback, but aren't as nasty as other damsels.

A Canthigaster puffer should be able to handle itself in your tank.

A wathman goby should also be able to fly under the radar.

Hey guys...I'm fairly new to saltwater tanks...I've had clowns, a coral beauty, damsel, hippo tang which I took back to the store cause it was too aggressive, and a cardinal...all of which has died except black and white clown and the damsel...the tank has been fully cycled for atleast 3 months. I can't figure out why my fish are dying. I'm wanting to get more fish but don't want to keep buying them just for them to die. Any ideas on what I can do and what types of fish is good for my tank would be great. I have a 30g for now. Thanks. Fish has to be reef safe because I do have a few corals.

How quickly did you acquire them? What type of filtration? Any signs of disease or behavioral issues? How are the corals doing? What are the parameters? What species of damsel? How quickly did they die? All of this info can affect a proper diagnosis.

Were I to guess, I would think a disease, but I don't have enough info.

BTW a hippo gets waaaay too big for a 30g.

Mandarins are tricky. Most refuse to eat prepared foods and rely mostly on pods that reproduce in the tank. A single mandarin can quickly deplete these pods n a smaller tank. A basic recommendation is one mandarin per 50g that has been running for at least 6months.

Currently have a 60 gallon cube with a 10 gallon sump. also Setting up a 29 gallon display Refugium(pod city)
Tank is fairly old but i just moved it into my apartment 3 months ago.
Currently have
Diamond back goby
2 Snowflake clowns
Firefish
Cleaner shrimp
Several Snails/crabs
LPS and soft corals

Adding(in planned order)
African Midas blenny
Banggai Cardinal fish
Purple Dottyback> orchid Dottyback>Royal Gamma Basselet (choosing 1 for the tank with the purple my most desired)
A flasher wrasse
Mandarine goby(after pods have matured)

Let me know if there is any issues in compatibility, order, stock amount, extra. This is around my 5th fish wishlist so i have been told no a lot lol.

List is fine, but the purple dottyback may be a bit too aggressive for some of your other fish.
