Added the Fritz turbostart today at 1oz per 25 gallons(4- 1 oz bottles).
I checked my salinity and it was 1.024 so I will take some water out and mix it with some salt and get it 1.025

So I have been looking at different fish that I could add once my cycle is done.
Planning on a clown like a captive raised lightning maroon or something like that.
Any Input welcome

Had a scare as the water level had gone up just a tiny amount, so I changed the speed of the return pump to one watt slower and took water out so all good now.
Tested ammonia and its reading .25 so it's almost zero!!

So it's time for some life in this tang besides pods and phyto.
I was thnking on a tank raised clown of some sort or tank raised bangaii cardinal as its too early for a tang I think. I dont want damsels or chromis as they just kill each other off.
The lights are still not on yet as I didnt want the ugly stage before my pods population got up there.

I have fish coming!!!
I got a Biota yellow tang and 2 tank raised mocha clowns coming from a place only 3 hours a way from me. They have been in a semi quarantine for 4 weeks and are eating very well.
I wanted to cut my lights on today but I have an air conditioner stuck in every orifice in this house waiting for the new central air unit to be installed on Sep 16th.
You would think that 12k$$ for a new unit would justify a faster install time.

Lights are on acclimation mode starting at 30% and ramping up over a 30day period.
Going to order more phyto to keep the pod population get bigger.

So a place I have traded with for years just sent me this message on a cleanup crew(I have the start of the ugly phase)
"I would grab a mix of snails (25 total?), 5 emeralds, 2 sand tiger conches, 1 urchin, 2 sand sifting stars.

That should be a good amount to start off with.

As the tank matures, you can tell if more is needed."

Needless to say I will not be doing business with them anymore

Please keep us updated, I just started an NYOS G2 300 , so I'm following very closely,
BTW are you considering adding a UV ? and with that plumbing, how are you planning? (I'm still trying to figure that out)

So far I have had no plans to do a uv but I have one of the green killing machine uv's just in case of a bloom or something.
I love the plumbing as it came because it just works well so no modifications at all are planned.
I put a lifeguard media reactor in and filled it with polyfill floss for the extra filtration along with the oversized skimmer.
I have the apex hooked up with the auto water change setup just waiting on new heads for the DoS but even then I am not gonna do many water changes.
