Well I’m totally bummed this morning:(

The cbb was found dead on the sand bed:(

He ate at the LFS, ate my mix, although not much and understandable last night.

Was active just like the video I posted all night. Just cruising carefully and checking things out.

The flame angel was showing dominance like I said but no contact.

There are no marks or signs of disease.

That is an absolute bummer. Looked like you did everything right.

I am so sorry! Heck I even teared up:(

Thanks....... it really bothers me when this happens for no apparent reason.

I could understand if it was already sick or injured and I was trying to help.

But he seemed totally fine :(

Sigh........

Sorry to hear this Mike, it’s so frustrating because the fish look fine and then they just seem to give up for no obvious reason

You think their healthy and eating and next minute there gone!

I haven't spent a lot of time studying dead fish, but the only thing that looks a little "off" is the black and blue section on the last picture. Not sure what it would be though.

Sorry again for your loss :(

So.....

I have 2 gyre XF250’s.

Last night I decided I wanted more of a random flow, or maybe more chaotic vs linear.

So I did this......try to follow along!

For the gyre on the left, I kept the rear head normal, and put a reverse head on the front.

I did the same on the right side, then flipped it and basically mounted it upside down.

Ok, now I run the preprogrammed OTC (oceanic tidal current).

With this program, the gyres run forward and reverse, power varies throughout the day.

So now what I have is the left rear and right front running when the gyres are on forward flow. This gives a cross current with “crashing” flow throughout the middle of the tank.

Then when the gyres switch to reverse, the left rear and right front are in forward flow.

Got it?

I’m super happy with it. I came home from work today’s and everything looks VERY happy.!

I think I like it!

I have done some reading and it appears your situation is common.

With CBB’s? Hmmm.......I would have still got the guy. He really was healthy looking and eating.

Still a bummer:(

Thanks so much for doing some research:)

My head hurts, but I think I get it. More random and crashy the better.
