Hey, just made it through your whole thread and really enjoy your tank. I've recently started Vibrant as well to rid my hair algae problems too. Off topic question, what temperature do you keep your tank at? I saw it's usually around 79 until a recent post. I just moved from a cooler part of CA to northern Florida and was wondering if it was worth bumping my tank up to 79 from 78 so the fans don't have to run as much. I just have a small Reefer 250, but it's something. Also, what do you use for CA and ALK control? Thanks. -Paul

I am committed to doing better going forward with updates, etc.
I had turned off my UV which ran 24/7 for the past week, hence the temp drop. Now my heater has to work!
We keep the house at 74 deg in the hot months, and heater is set at 79.
As far as alk and calcium dosing, I have BRS 2 part, but I haven't had to dose much of anything...….yet.
My SPS try didn't go well and I think its my fault for bringing up alk to quickly.
and the only reason I can think calcium finally took a dip is because of my clam (hadn't test calcium in maybe 2 months?)
Once I get the hair algae under control, I will continue with NoPox / vibrant and give SPS another try.
At work, we are heading into our busy season, and I don't want to add much coral at this time as sleep will become a top priority!
Where did you move to.....your profile says CA, but you said northern Fla so I am assuming Jacksonville.

Hey Brew, I am assuming this will wipe out my Chaeto in the reactor.
Did you have chaeto when you used it?
Will I even need it any more is I do the maintenance dosing?

My chaeto does well at 1 dose every 2 weeks. I would take the reactor offline if you dose more often than that.

Well, I haven’t seen my long nose in a day. I hope he is just chillin’ somewhere.
Also, I ordered a fish trap. My yellow tang will not leave the foxface alone.
I swore I would not have another tang, but then, well, you know.
I hope to catch him and trade him in for a frag or 2.

As of this morning, no impact yet. This evening will be 48 hours in. Do recall how long it took for you to notice anything?
I do not have a trachy pic!
I don’t need a trachy pic.
I know of a few threads where there are plenty of trachy pics to look at!
(Although, my interest is starting to peak [emoji57])

It was awhile for me. My tank was much nastier than I thought. Once I took a MJ1200 powerhead and blasted the crud out of my rock the Vibrant worked much faster.
I know some people with very clean tanks see results in a day.

Not yet. I planned on doing that tonight.
It was going to get removed anyway as some hair algae made its way into the reactor.
