Revamped the CUC today, another good order from ReefCleaners.

Got an assortment of snails, and some hermits. Also got a giant knobby creeper. This thing is a UNIT!

Never heard of a knobby creeper before! Those snails look massive!

Boring Stuff:

Tank is still doing well! New CUC is taking care of some of the hair algae, but I guess uglies are to be expected with 25 nitrate and .2 phoshate lol.

Update on Joes Juice: It works!
Update on Co2 scrubber: Meh... not really seeing any results. Going to tinker a little more.

Alk consumption is continuing to increase, I have upped my dosing amount several times now. I dropped down to 8.4 from 8.9! Really happy about this.

Cool Stuff:

New addition to the fish fam! A cool little carpenter's wrasse, had him for a few weeks now.
What a booger to get a picture of...

Starting to see my corals get deeper and more saturated coloration. The Zoas look awesome, and my dragon-whatever-keeper-soul-tamer bla bla torch is really starting to pop (and continue to grow like weeds)!

The different in the two types of GSP I used to start my GPS island is also becoming more apparent. The darker green on the back has blue centers, and the front ones have green. Pretty cool!

I'll work on getting a new updated FTS soon.

Sheesh… disaster avoided… went out of town, and set the house thermostat to 77. Looks like the room my tank is in got HOT.

Got an apex notification, and was able to get someone to run by and turn the AC down…

I’m really glad I did! I got it used with tons of modules for $300 on Facebook marketplace. Well worth it after this little event lol.

Tank peaked at 80.6, from the usual average of 79. Nothing too crazy.

We’re back to normal now though.

What version do you have. I can't decide between apex, hydros, or something open source like reef angel.
Currently using an Apex EL on both tanks, it’s the lower model of the last generation of apex, but does everything I need.

I’ve really liked it so far, also got the MXM module to control my Neros and Ai lights from the apex app. Really nice to have a single place to adjust and configure things.

Had a great time at the Chatnooga aquarium's "Fish and Sip" event. Craft beer + walking about the aquarium around was great! (21+ no kids around yelling and wiping boogers on the glass!) Highly recommend to anyone nearby!

Stopped by a really nice LFS on the way back, picked up some chunky zoa frags, Pocillopora, MONSTER emerald crab (already munching bubble algae!), and a Tuxedo urchin to clean up some turf algae I have.

The monster! Hard to gauge the scale, but this dude is a unit.

Finally got my frag rock in place that I picked up at Carolina Aquatic Expo, pretty cool and looks better than I thought it would!

Oof… bought some new torches and it looks like they may have had some flatworms or eggs that made it through my dip.

Really hoping they are isolated to the torches on the frag rack… as you can see in the video, there are two worms and a nice batch of eggs where my torches flesh used to be :(

Hopefully, they stayed isolated!

Haven't seen any additional flatworms! Even when peeking with red light at night.

I also got a little helper to keep them at bay, even if they made it through my dips. Welcome Minion to the tank!

Love this torch! Looks like its starting to split, woo!

IMG_6588.jpg

Update FTS! With my eye sore UV sterilizer lol, I will move it into the sump at some point.

IMG_6594.jpg

Frag rack has a couple new torches! Cotton Candy, NY Nicks, Dragon Tamer, and a purple indo with green center. I'm honestly out of room on the rocks and probably should't have bought the torches lol.

Starting to look into a tank upgrade... something in the 120-150 gallon range. :D

Dang! Really been noticing the blue coloration on my larger female clown lately. And all the black spots from bumping into torches lol.

Thought this shot was interesting, though a bit busy lol.
