Welp, having some weird tissue issues with my torches. They are opening and extending really well, but the flesh band appears to have little nicks/cuts.

Before:

Note how smooth and consistent the flesh band is around the skeleton.

Now:

Super jagged, and receeding.

I don't see any flatworms on these torches, but my emerald crab does hang out around them sometimes. Other corals doing well with great polyp extension as well, so I don't think its a parameter issue. Any one else face similar issues?

Too much flow causing the skeleton to damage the tissue?

I'm newish to this, but just a thought.
It’s possible! I didn’t consider that. Thanks!

Though I have other torches doing better in more flow. It gets a nice moderate alternating flow in that spot. ‍♂️

It seems like the recession has stopped. Still no clue what it was stressed about.

You're welcome! I just picked up my first torch last weekend. A fiji blue variant....I have the bug bad now...it is quickly becoming one of my favorite pieces!!!

Sheeeeeesh! The hurricane really did a number on my area.

Luckily I bought a generator before the storm hit and was able to keep the tank running for 36~ hours without power. No losses so far, corals are a little stressed though since I was only powering pumps to keep water flowing.

Really shocked power is back, went to check on some family up in the sticks and it will be a while for them, crazy destruction from flooding.

Ugh... Still running into issues with Torches melting! I have lost a few now, while others are growing new heads and look like they are doing well. Frustrating issue.

I sent off a Aqua biomics test and do see that my tank's microbiome isn't very "balanced" and has a potential coral pathogen. (cant find much info about it).

Bit stumped as to why my torches aren't doing well, don't see any pests either.

I have been doing more regular frequent water changes and it *SEEMS* like the torch recession is slowing. Who knows!

The positive! Fish are all doing well, the corris wrasse has been awesome. Super active and constantly hunting.

Coral growth! (and dinos recovery)

This hammer started off at 2 heads, its currently at 5 heads, with 2 more splitting, so soon to be 7 heads!

Bought this cotton candy as a single splitting head, it's currently 4 largish heads!

The Goni has also taken off!

Recovering chalice! I really though this dude was a goner, practically melted when I had dinos. I keep removing the bryopsis from the dead skeleton. Will be addressed with Fluconazole soon.
