GHL Profilux P4 Ultimate Set with a second Powerbar all NIB for $600, from the for sale section of the forum.

I was just setting up my system so I was checking the for sale section constantly for equipment I was looking to buy. I was looking for a controller but didn't want to spend what a new one cost (GHL or Apex). So I had actually already bought a classic Apex while they were being sold out on discount. That got sent back to BRS unopened.

Glad I came across the deal since I wanted a Profilux to begin with.

I don’t know who it everyone, but for 7 friends, a forklift and popping out a couple windows. Well actually some pizza a beer too!

The tank and all the stuff was located about five hours from me in Toledo. I got the good deal from the ex wife who know owned the tank and wanted all the fish stuff out of her house. Rented a 30ft truck and went up there. Took out their living room picture window and backed the truck up to the house and move it on the truck. Also moved onto the truck the breeder tanks, 4 55 gallon drums, 800ish pounds of rock, 100 gallon sump, pumps, etc. drove it home. Met by 7 buddies and a forklift. Popped out my window and cut the doorway out of my office. As easy as that!
How does one relocate a 650??

Late to the party,

But I got my waterbox 230.6 for $4,000 (about normal price new) except mine came with 5x g4 xr15s, full apex, 3 mp40s, cw-50, skimmer, pumps, uv, live rock etc. Delivered and installed so I essentially bought the tank and got all the equipment and set up free.

I got into the hobby in April of 2004 and from the very beginning I was always on the hunt to score amazing deals on equipment and livestock. Being in the hobby for so long and involved in the industry my hunting days are pretty much over but I do have a couple of good stories to share. I also thought that this would make a great QOTD (question of the day) that we could all participate in. So today's questions are as follows.

1. Do you actively hunt for awesome reefing deals on equipment and livestock?

2. SHARE one or more of your Major Reefing Score stories with us!

Now for my story. I started the hobby with a 75g and I had always wanted a bigger tank for room for tangs. At the time money was a "huge object" :) and I wasn't able to just go out and buy any tank I wanted much less the equipment, rock and livestock to fill it. I was moderating on a forum called AquariumAdvice.com. It was the first place I had googled when I was trying to learn how to keep and maintain a saltwater aquarium. Almost 1 year to the day I came across a listing on the forums that blew me away and this was the beginning of my first major score! HA!

For sale? This was the original post. BUT I had come across this post almost a MONTH later and the price had dropped from $900 to $600! It was a miracle and had to be for me! HA! Not only did it have all in the description but it was like brand new, fish were beautiful and healthy and had several corals and other odd and ends with it.

Today I went to four or five wholesalers and they had soft corals(Indo) I was looking for and some for one of our members that lives in North Carolina. I live in Callyfornia. Then one member that I was with today he sells online and had a brand new de filtration unit. Never used and he gave it to me for free. Complete nothing missing

torch for 150$ which my local lfs said theyd take 50$ per head if theyd let me frag it. Might consider doing it if they take a few heads off the outsides or lemme trade em for one of their other indo green and yellow torches
