Does anyone know the effects of vodka dosing on the MRS ratio?

New research suggest hobbiests cannot attain optimal coral growth until surpassing a R2R MRS ratio of 1:3

Starting to make sense why my corals have not been doing well recently. . . My MRS ratio is about 1:1

My corals are dying — I have an inverse ratio!!!! Might need to seek some professional help soon.

Not scientifically proven yet but I’ve heard that higher concentration of vodka helped boost polyp “extensions” so more MRS?

I’ve also heard this. Particularly when factoring in the frag size coefficient and “pray to God” it survives constants.

I’m not a people person, very shy and timid, hence I got into reefing. I prefer talking to fish and corals — they don’t have attitude problems, don’t talk politics, have a bad hair day (well, some torches do), got personal problems, etc. In other words, they don’t talk back! So no — I would not make a good R2R greeter!

I'm right behind with the WC crowd -- my SPS-dominant (90%+) tank will past 4yrs next month and still no WC! ha

Skimmer: I still use them though. I love the new BK300 on my big tank - besides the gunk removal, I do like the little boost in pH.

Lol! I could tell from your original post it was a joke. There may be others that do look at that stuff as valuable along with badges though. At the end of the day, with much respect to R2R of course, there’s nothing tangible to gain from them other than pride. I personally wouldn’t mind starting another profile over again if it were allowed.

Life is too short to take things seriously (without harming others, of course). My work life is very stressful so reefing & R2R are my therapies from its challenges. Therefore, it's just all for humor & entertainment.

I hear ya there, and I agree. I just like to participate because I value the reefing community and want to support us as much as possible. So after a while, we might get those participation badges and such, and others may read into them a little too much. So I constantly try to explain that I am a hobbyist myself and keep things real.
