This is the hammer I have (no clue what kind) I was hoping to have a torch close but thinking another hammer may be the answer.Ok just when I thought things were complicated enough… some torches are ok touching hammers and frogspawn?

Again, from what I've read yes. It comes down to their region, indo and aussi. So for example, indo hammers and indo torches would be ok. I don't have any to try, so can't say I've verified this claim.Ok just when I thought things were complicated enough… some torches are ok touching hammers and frogspawn?
Agreed. SMH, I guess I need a larger tank. LolAlways best to err on the side of caution.
I have a 20gal. I’m cycling my new 60gal and already thinking bigger… I have a steep learning curve lolALWAYS need a bigger tank. that is "Saltwater 101" lol
Oh no. I hope it’s ok.My flasher wrasse just jumped out of my tank... :'(

Sorry to hear that, freaking jumpers. I just got a lid on my set up when I got a Yellow Banded Possum Wrasse. I thought the ink birds lasted forever? I put one on my 60 as I was told it is a must have. Scary to hear one going out on you.Nope it's dead. I just went to feed my tank and noticed it missing. Looked behind the tank and it's already dry. Must have jumped last night I guess :'( I swear I can't catch a break with this tank. My inkbird stopped working last week.
180! That is awesome. I just got into reefing and wish I knew more when I bought my 60. I love Tangs all to find out you need at least 100g for them to be happy.I currently just have an 18g cobalt C Vue at home but I also own a 180g reef that I have had leased for the past 6 years
No idea... has been working fine and last week it just started beeping (guess the alarm on it)... went to check and display said "err". Not much info available online. I plugged the heater directly and that works fine. I tried different outlets etc for the inkbird just to rule stuff out... just continually beeps (no heaters plugged into it). So far the heater has been fine directly and on its own (built in thermostat)... thankfully I do have a spare heater for backup.Sorry to hear that, freaking jumpers. Ya know its funny how we label a fish to a tank size like that. Those numbers seem to change as well. Used to be a 55g was enough for a tang etc etc.180! That is awesome. Thing is a fish that is designed to live on or near a reef with all the gazillion gallons of water they have to swim in is hard to really determine what is "right" when we put them in a tank that can fit on a desk
Yep we just do what we think is right and hope that the pets we keep live healthy and happy lives. I just have a pair of SA Mocha Storm clowns in my 18 and the 180 has just a single tang, a sailfin that is about 6", a koran angel that is about 7" and is a model reef citizen..for now lol, foxface and the rest are clowns, chromis etc. Not what is considered a lot for a 180 I guessTrue, at the end of the day it's hard to determine what is right. That being said, I'm sure it's easier for most reefers to keep certain types of fish healthy in certain tanks vs others. Smaller tanks require more frequent water changes with the same stocking for example. I've never kept tangs, but have been told they are ich magnets etc... there are a ton of variables.
At least it was alarming letting you know there was an issue. It doesn’t help the issue of not working though. No idea... has been working fine and last week it just started beeping (guess the alarm on it)... went to check and display said "err". I have a mesh lid (must have aimed at the corner not covered)
It was a flasher wrasse.
