ya we have one that is currently wondering our tank for the past week. He suddenly can't seem to find a happy place. They can move around....they rarely stay on open sandbed and like to find a rock or the edge of your tank to anchor to. Easy to care for, can irritate nearby corals but nowhere as bad as RBTA or maxi mini.
Madman is a really cool one... I have something very similar in my cube... growing right next to a leptastrea.ya our acans have their own corner of the tank! the favia currently has its own area under a tunnel in the middle where no other corals are at all. We have the madman favia.
I have seen them kept togetherCan carpet anenome and rfas do well together?
would you recommend for a 30 gal? if these guys are gonna hit 8" i am thinking a need to pass. They can move around....they rarely stay on open sandbed and like to find a rock or the edge of your tank to anchor to. Easy to care for, can irritate nearby corals but nowhere as bad as RBTA or maxi mini.
Sand bed is ok, but they do better growth wise when they can encrust on something, which sand isn’t ideal for. Same with AcansI have our favia on the sand bed so this way it is isolated. Is that okay?
they like to encrust "something" so once they outgrown the frag plug, they will grow faster glued to a rock...I have our favia on the sand bed so this way it is isolated. Is that okay?
we have our acans on a large rock so we can get a garden eventually. I can add the madman to a flat smaller frag rock if that would be better for it?Sand bed is ok, but they do better growth wise when they can encrust on something, which sand isn’t ideal for. Same with Acans
Perfectly fine... maybe one night see how long the sweepers get so you can gauge how close you're comfortable putting it near other coralsI have our favia on the sand bed so this way it is isolated. Is that okay?
the ugly brown / green / white stripe ones get up to 8". I can never seen an ultra get to that size. People have them in nano tanks all the time. But they do move....so people get ticked when they move to the back of the tank or behind a rock and never be seen again =(would you recommend for a 30 gal? if these guys are gonna hit 8" i am thinking a need to pass.
okay. I can cut off the bottom the stick part per say and glue the plug onto a smaller flat frag rock. Would that be better for it?they like to encrust "something" so once they outgrown the frag plug, they will grow faster glued to a rock...
they can not touch...well...technically, carpet can't touch anything because they are so sticky and has a strong stingCan carpet anenome and rfas do well together?
They definitely grow better when on a rock. My reverse prism is filling out nicelywe have our acans on a large rock so we can get a garden eventually. I can add the madman to a flat smaller frag rock if that would be better for it?
one of ours did this. He put himself under one of our arches. It's soooooooo pretty and bright so I hate that he put himself there but at the same time don't mind it because honestly with the way that arch is I don't see us being able to put anything else there.the ugly brown / green / white stripe ones get up to 8". Yupokay. I can cut off the bottom the stick part per say and glue the plug onto a smaller flat frag rock. Would that be better for it?
