Wow, we've been blessed to be getting so many amazing corals in lately! Here are a few pieces that I had fun photographing. I'm pretty happy with how photogenic some of the shots look.

I want that pink with yellow centers goni. I NEED it. It looks like the powerpuff goniopora I bought from you previously, a beautiful and healthy coral which did great and doubled in size over a year's time until I got distracted by real life and stupidly let my phosphate go to 0 resulting in its rapid demise. I can't find it on Legendary-corals.com, please tell me it will be available soon. One of my favorite goni's.

And for anyone who hasn't heard this before-Darwin is the best and ships the best, healthiest, most beautiful corals.

Thank you!

Thank you so much John for the overwhelmingly kind words! I'm sorry to hear about the loss of the Powerpuff Goniopora. This one I believe is even pinker than the Powerpuff! I'll be making frags of it next week and will have a nice piece aside for you.

Your pics of the ric are so much better than anything I could get. Its weirdddd but awesome!!!
And that rainbow passion will make you many babies!
Thank you! I'm waiting for the right update from you guys to get a little bit of everything :)
It's such a cool Ricordea! It's always the weird corals that I personally enjoy keeping.

Another update of photographs to share! I've had the pleasure of photographing some absolute beauties over the past few months.

A fully mature Red Devil Discosoma Mushroom Coral. Originally named by reefer SniperSPS, the Red Devil Discosoma Mushroom Coral is infamous for its incredibly rich bright red contrasted by soft baby blue speckles. It is a much rarer Discosoma than a Jawbreaker. They grow much slower and very rarely produce offspring. The offspring start off all red and slowly gain speckles of baby blue throughout the body. As they mature, the small blue speckles become larger nodules as seen on this mature piece.

This piece isn't lineaged to the original piece SniperSPS first named, but it is great to see the same type of mushroom being imported again since the original strain is somewhat long gone in the hobby.

And here are some of the smaller Red Devil Discosoma Mushroom Corals, to show the pattern and color development throughout the sizes.

Our first time seeing an ECC Nexus Burst Bubble Tip Anemone also happens to be our first time owning one! This is an anemone coloration we never would have dreamed of, bicolor! Eye Catching Corals has been aquaculturing this phenomenal Bubble Tip Anemone for the past 2 years. The teal and orange colors swirl throughout the body, with each Bubble Tip Anemone from this strain looking completely different from each other. This strain tends to stay smaller than most other Bubbletip anemones, splitting off before they can reach a large size.

A Golden Tiger Torch Coral with gorgeous Teal Tips. It doesn't have the insane amount of contrast as our last Tiger Torch, but the teal tips are absolutely stunning. These teal tipped golden Torch Corals that are more yellow than gold are our absolute favorite types of Torches. Yes, even more than Holy Grails (although true Holy Grail Torch Corals are much brighter). They're just so unique and oddball compared to lots of Torch Corals in the hobby. This particular Torch Coral is a little guy that opens to about 3" across.

Taking a full-shot of a colony is difficult when it comes to using a macro lens, but the details are superb. Here's a rather rare coloration of chalice coral. Usually most rimmed chalice corals are green, dubbed "watermelon." But sometimes, a red rimmed variant comes gets imported. And what's more oddball than red, is orange! The orange is subtle in this chalice, but it's certainly not red. After 10+ years of being in the hobby, it's always the stranger things that get our attention. The bright blue rings around each eye spread out throughout the body as little speckles of soft blue, making it look like it's glittering (especially the ones on the rim). This Orange Rimmed Chalice Coral is currently being offered as a whole colony, but we might aquaculture it if it doesn't find a home in the next month or so. We wouldn't mind growing this piece out.

Some incredible Blastomussa Corals are starting to appear in the hobby again, and that's great since they're one of our favorite corals! This neon green rimmed Blastomussa Wellsi Coral has a deep purple center with a fluorescent teal ring that absolutely GLOWS. It's been doing very well the past few weeks, with frags currently healing up. We can't wait for the skirts to pool over the areas we've fragged, allowing the fluorescent inner ring to stretch out and show itself more.

1656538854101.png

We were fortunate enough to get in another colony of Hellboy/ Black Widow Blastomussa Wellsis! The deep purple-blue center stretch and striate outwards into the scarlet red rims, created very fine lines and details. This Blastomussa Wellsi tends to have smaller polyps compared to other Wellsis.

Glittery Gonioporas will probably always be our favorite type of Gonioporas to photograph.

A new type of "Bounce" Mushroom Coral, this time on a Discosoma Mushroom species. They're going by the name of "Poseidon Bounce" Discosoma Mushroom Coral by a few other vendors, and is most likely the name that will stick. Similar to the Neptune Bounce Mushroom, this is a Discosoma species with bubble nodules throughout the body. These photos are a few days after we first received them, but over the past few weeks they've started to gain a more yellow coloration in their body. Either way, it's great to have a new "Bounce" Discosoma in the hobby.

A small colony of Rainbow Sunset Yuma Mushroom Corals. These were one of the brightest little Yumas we've seen in a long time. We tend to find the Yumas that have grown as a colony on rocks to have more success in captivity than the single larger polyp varieties.

Hot pink with yellow centers will always be a beautiful color combination on a Goniopora. This little piece is growing very well while it waits for its new home. We just might end up aquaculturing it if it stays here another month or so. You can never have too many Gonioporas!

Ricordea Florida Mushroom Corals are always a joy to receive. The sheer amount of coloration and variety they come in is like looking into a bag of skittles. Here's some photos of a shipment we received some time ago, after they've settled down and colored up a bit. Ricordea Florida Mushroom Corals are always one of those things that look better overtime in captivity than when you receive them as wild pieces. They get absolutely plumpy and bright!
