So the fishery in West Hawaii has now officially satisfied the Supreme Court Ruling that demanded an environmental review before the issuance of permits can be allowed by the State. The Supreme Court has reviewed the revised EIS and affirmed it bringing an official end to this long process. The findings of this environmental review process proves that the fishery has very little to no impact in West Hawaii and this was echoed by fishery scientists/biologist in their 92 page submittal to BLNR in April. Division of Aquatic Resources clearly stated this fishery is sustainable and is well understood. They also said they view this fishery as any other fishery and that it’s very well managed. EarthJustice and the activists it represents, are actively suing the state on a number of issues, mostly centered around fishing, food and otherwise.

Delayed Justice is Justice Denied. Congratulations to Earth Justice for imposing their views and will upon the minority fisheries community.
