Hey im down to help anyone that will listen.
I went fresh after I retired my saltwater when my PBT nuked my tank and died.
Didn't think id do another saltwater after that.

Then i went high tech freshwater, when Takashi Amano started getting all popular with his ADA style tanks.

Then realized this is almost as much work as a saltwater tank.
Missed Clowns, Tangs, and Coral, so i went back.... well minus the Tang.

Im still traumatized on Tangs tho, especially that Powder Blue, and all Acanthurus species in general.
I really want another one for my 150, but i will definitely PASS.

Anyhow im a hardcore Anthias Lover now.... and my tank now is Anthias Dominated.

Thats my UNS... you see no carpet, because its too high maintance....
You can see the CO2 bottle on the right. I atomize CO2 in that tank.
Substrate is ADA Amazonia Aquasoil.

And I lost the war against the Bolbitus.... sigh.... grows slow they said.... wont take over the tank they said....

Typically all those pretty tanks with carpets are dry started.
They grow the baby tears or what in a moist tank, and then once its started to spread sideways because without water they can't climb up due to gravity and no boyancy, they grow sideways and carpet.

As for dosing... what plants do you have?
You really shouldn't need to dose anything because you will get a algae bloom on a cosmic scale if not done correctly.

I have nutella(I really forgot the name) sagritii or something like that, segattarri I think it is, and a purple/red leafed plant

lol sorry being from US and not UK nutella wasn't really something i liked as kid.

I preferred peanut butter more.

I’m also us, but no, I mean edollii nutelii or something, but also, the reason I want a carpet it cuz I really really really a, seeking that calm, meditative cutting and trimming, so I might mix up some segatarii, Monte Carlo and hairgrass together

For anyone not familiar with OP, look through the post history. Blue tang in a 10 gallon, cutting a tank to make it longer (?? Yeah you read that right), throwing a temper tantrum when called out, and been keeping fish for 10 years (making OP 3 or 4 when he kept tanks? Yeah okay. I think you'd likely get more useful answers and fewer joke responses if you had the name correct and what you posted did not just pull up nutella recipes.

and how do u know how to do co2 dosing with yeast and citric acid? when do I do it? how much? and blah...
its a 10 gal, with 4 full grown guppies and 6 babies... I have duckweed( YES, I LIKE IT, LEAVE ME BE) a light(duuuh) elodea, sagittaria and thats all, im gonna get some Monte Carlo and dwarf hair grass

OK planted tank person here. You have a bunch of beginner, low light, low tech plants. One of which I consider a pest and would not allow it near my tank. They will not need CO2. Or anything better than an LED desk lamp. What substrate did you use to make your water muddy? Are you reminerlizing or using tap?

What are your goals. If you are going to use CO2 do not cheap out. Get a good dual stage regulator and buy a cheap 5lb tank.

If this was asked in the planted tank forum you would be flagged as a troll instantly.

No duckweed will die submerged. About the carpet.
