Great question. That's a good one for @Ron Reefman who's had many baby RFAs and also probably @jkcoral .

I also have two of the babies on my Gyre and one has been moving around the rock in the back of the tank near the branching GSP jungle.

* Note: I have not cleaned all that bubble algae horror off of the gyre, specifically because the babies call it home.

Now let's play, "Who Is The Father!?"

He’s an adorable baby zoanthid, well he wants you to think that.

Can’t wait to see the colours - do they gain more as they grow?

They can gain more as they grow. I’ve had babies that were born “ultras” or already fluorescent like the baby hiding in the Zoas, and they usually keep that pattern, but things like pinstripes/other color tones can develop over time.

I’ve also had litters of RFA pups that all looked orange-reddish with grey skirts that developed into fluorescent colors as they grew. Super interesting to see. Growth is just super slow!

jkcoral is right. RFAs can change as they grow, some very little, some quite a bit. They can, SOMETIMES, even change when they are placed in new environments. I have 3 RFAs I collected myself in the Florida Keys. They were all very plain looking and just an off white color. It took a couple of months for the first one to gain more grays and blacks and develop stripes. And over the next 4 to 6 months, so did the other two. I suspect they were recovering from some kind of bleaching even or something else that stressed them into losing all their zooxanthellae.

Just found 5 small Aips in the main tank and three in the clown prison tank, including one I blasted with a LOT of boiling water a few days ago, which seems to have pulled a Lazarus. I think they are actually undead sea creatures.

I'd probably change the lyrics to a clown with a nem over there. Which for some protective/aggressive clowns would be highly appropriate.

I love ocean live rock. Noticed a whole ton of tiny little feather dusters pop up on my TBS rocks:

Also this thing, which I don't know what it is, but it's been there a long time and doesn't seem to multiply, at least not a lot.
