Jeez, that's a lot of light man. What kinda settings are you running on the k7 minis? I can't tell if I'm over or underlighting my corals haha
This is what I have the two K7 minis doing right now:

and the AI Prime 16HD:
1686783418518.png

Before I added the K7 mini in the middle, I was getting about 150 PAR around the BTAs, 200 around the hammer, 200 on top of the SPS rock in the middle, 150 around the octospawn, 150-200 on top of the rock on the right hand side that has the cyphastrea and the green/red RFA, and a bit under 150 on the sand bed around the big red RFA.

Goal is a solid 150 PAR on the sand bed, except for the far sides where acans and blastos should be hanging out. 250 or so on top of the rocks for the BTAs and the SPS. The zoa and mid-section corals 150-200 range. I think 3 K7 minis running around 50% should give that kind of coverage--I like the idea of running them lower power so the fan isn't always on and maybe the LEDs last a bit longer.

Final lights all set up!
1686875308425.png

I put the schedule on all of them and checked PAR with my parwise:
1686875332382.png

I measured around at 2 settings, first peak and last trough.
1. Whites 23%, Blues 50%, Violet 60%
2. Whites 14%, Blues 35%, Violet 40%

Observations, at peak, PAR was around 350 on top of the rocks around the BTAs and the SPS. A bit lower at around 300 on the right hand rock, which is a bit lower. Sand bed was a solid 200 PAR all around except for the corners.

At trough, the top of the rocks was around 200 and change PAR and the sand beds a solid 150 PAR.

So, with the Saxby schedule, I think the SPS and BTAs are getting short blasts and coming down to dim levels (200), so spending most of their time in the upper 200s, which is OK. The right hand side that is just encrusting montis, cyphastrea, RFAs and sand bed corals like scoly and trachy are getting too much. So I dropped the blues and violets 5% at each peak and trough. Hopefully that is easier for them.

All the corals are a bit angry right now, but I'm sure they will get over it :~)

Nice having the PAR meter to help out. Now if I could just get the flow perfect...

Space invader alert! @Goaway oh, he's reaching for that acan isn't he? What a meany! Nudged the acan back an inch just in time.
The quality of that footage is..... crazy. Not even just quality - composition, colors, you get it.

You're like goals. Tank, corals, attitude, and now photo/videography too. You're crushing it.

And an update on the Flux Rx treatment. I need to do a water change today because I'm almost a week behind. However, I can safely say that the Flux has nearly eradicated the Valonia from the tank. There are still a few bubbles in shaded spaces, but they don't look like they are particularly healthy:
1687212393502.png

And this is a rock that had plenty of bubbles on it that I was losing control over:
1687212459964.png

I have done no manual removal since introduction of the Flux Rx.

Now for the downside. It seems like the codium that had been toughing it out has finally started succumbing to the Flux:
1687212527712.png

The codium has lasted MUCH longer than the Botrycladia and the Caulerpa. Caulerpa went pale very quickly. Botrycladia started losing its grapes after a week or so. But Codium stayed relatively unaffected and just lost some of its fuzziness, but now is starting to lose branches.

Hard to see here, but Valonia has completely taken over in this branching GSP. All of the interior folds of the GSP were packed with bubbles. I will pull this out and give it a good brush once this is all over.
1687212664532.png

Overall, I'd call this a soaring success. So far no coral deaths. Monti digitata is a bit rough for wear, but still putting out polyps. I am going to see through the second half of the treatment and see if I can't eradicate the bubbles.

Next steps are water change, addition of some replacement Flux, and I will also try to manually pop/pick out the bubbles I can find--there aren't many.

Its 'next week' where are the new fishies?!

I'm living vicariously through you since I am letting mine mellow for a while after the great clown-pocalypse of '23.

I was expecting them last Wednesday but called on Tues when I didn't get a shipping notice and they said they wouldn't be ready till this week. Expecting my shipping notice tomorrow!

I got some rigid plastic mesh (very small holes) to put in the overflow area after @trophyhimbo 's firefish incident. I'll be silicone sealing that in tomorrow so the new fish can't jump through to the return pump chamber. Wish the IM screens were a bit smaller diameter.

Tank is mostly prepped and ready for the new fish tomorrow! I installed the mesh fish guard to prevent any jumping into the overflow area. Aquarium-safe silicone was actually super easy and it stuck without any problems. Just wiped the acrylic down beforehand. Also moved around some rocks and tried to glue down zoas. I will use the 10g as a grow-out/frag tank, as these guys are growing super fast. I will need some cutters for the birdsnests soon, too.

Still theoretically possible that a jumper could get through that crack, but I think the likelihood is significantly diminshed, now.

In other news, I waited too long to do a water change and replenish the Flux Rx. I can see bubble reappearing and spent some time this afternoon picking them out. Will water change first thing in the AM and replenish the Flux Rx before the fishies arrive.

In other news, I am now in the final phase of transfer from my Evo. The major problem is getting the two RFAs off their respective rocks. The big green one is HUGE and super stuck. The smaller red one just doesn't care what you do to it. I tried to make a nem cannon, but it isn't big enough for the green RFA. I think it actually tried to go through but got stuck. Better luck next time.

In other news, it seems my Caulerpa went sexual in my macro holding tank (the IM 10g, holding the macros till the Flux is done). There are little wisps ALL over the glass.

In other news, I won a new Noopsyche K7 Mini!! Woohoo! I should be good for a clam with this. Just gotta get a reflector that works with the Noops.

That's all the news. Pics tomorrow! Fingers crossed the fish arrive alive and well!!

Sad day yesterday. The blue star leopard wrasse made the trip to CA, but was clearly injured en route and didn't make it through the day despite my best efforts. :worried-face: Thank you @Slocke @SaltyT @Crabby48 @Petcrazyson @Tcook for all of the assistance and consolation throughout the day.

Here is a picture of the beautiful fish before she went. RIP.

Good news is that the Court Jester Goby managed to get through a nasty bag and acclimation (two court jesters sent, one died en route and was going rancid):
1687454019784.png

Was eating pods off the glass before I left, so hopefully will do fine. It is in hiding today--good news I suppose is that all the effort to make comfortable caves, nooks, arches and other hiding places for fish comfort worked! Bad news, I can't find them!!

The Yasha shrimp goby arrived alive and at the same salinity as my tank, so it went right in. I was too busy playing medic on the blue star and the court jester to take photos of her/him before going into hiding. @i cant think mine did not have a very tall dorsal fin like yours. Would that mean it is likely a female? Might have been roughed up a bit, so maybe the fin grows more.

Dr. Reef is trying to help make up for the blue star and giving me a call today, so we'll see what the next steps are going to be.

I also did a 30% water change and topped up the Flux Rx for the second phase of treatment. Just in time, because the Valonia is looking like it is ready for a come-back.

Genius! I hope my misfortune will amount to something useful haha Where did you find the mesh guard?

Is it bad if Caulerpa goes sexual? does it mean more friends?!

Congratulations on the Noopsyche!! I want a clam in the future for sure and am eagerly awaiting the day my tank's mature enough for one. Would you recommend a specific spotlight for one? What is the reflector for?

Sorry about fishies :( Sucks about getting the pre-quarantined ones is if something goes wrong there's a whole new waiting process. I am in the middle of one right now but Dr. Reef has been incredibly response and on top of it with updates. Hope it works out
