All this and I meant C. B is one of my favorites. Their should be a secondary comedy photo contest!
Too many leopards? I personally like H the most (I. was a bit of a gimmick, but fun to make), but clown taco seems to be the clear favorite.

Yep. I don’t want any competition!! (Jk don’t care)

H is too busy. What is the coral above the sticks in H. Is it a palythoa?

The big flat ones laying on top of the setosa are cinnamon grandis palys.

Working on my lid design. Keeping it pretty simple. This will be an all polycarbonate plastic lid with a cutout for the Plank and lots of holes in it for ventilation--not quite as good as mesh, but the price is half of what the mesh lid makers cost and small mesh is a bit of a pain to clean (have to take off the lid, clean it with a hose or in a huge basin sink, come back, pick up fish off the floor, etc...). Hoping this lid is easier maintenance. It will be two pieces. I took measurements and there is some slight variation in the glass width and total dimensions of the tank--0.1" shorter length, 0.125" longer width than an exact 48"x20".

Any thoughts? @VintageReefer

Some of the internal debates I'm having:

1. Flow is meant to be 100% return pump and 1 MP40. In principle, I don't need any corner cutouts for wires. However, I don't know if I will want to add more or different flow later--e.g., a gyre. So maybe I should just include cutouts in any case. HOWEVER, cutouts without any wires filling in that space is just an invitation for a pencil wrasse to jump right through the corner. What if I got the corners cut, but asked him to include the corners when sending them to me, use some plastic glue to re-bond them to the corners, and then if/when I want to add wires, just break off the corner?

2. I'm wondering if I should add a feeding hole for dropping in frozen food. Although I understand you can just drop the frozen food into the Plank feeding hole. Anyone ever do this?

3. I'm wondering if I should add some hinged doors or hinged front half of the lid so that I can open and get into the tank without taking off the entire lid. That said, since it is 2 pieces, it's sort of like having a vertical hinge in any case. I also don't know how useful it'll really be if I need to get to the back of the tank for something. Still, it might make redistributing the corals on the front sand bed a bit easier. And I like squirting ROE, PacPods, Phyto and/or OysterFeast into the tank off and on throughout the day (hence the filthy mesh, where I squirt through).

Decisions, decisions...

I would keep the wire cutouts. I run a temp probe, grounding probe, Trident supply line and osmolator fill line. You can always put a rubber plug in. I drop frozen cubes into my plank all the time. I like having the feed door so I can feed wimpy fish by hand as it can get aggressive around the plan tube.

Its polycarb so you can cut it with a razor blade. You could have them mostly cut the wire holes but leave them attached with small tabs that can be cut at your leisure/need.
