Still running? I've got a 7' peninsula that I've been thinking of turning into a gorg/keys tank exclusively. This helps by showing what I can do without a sump, dosing etc. with no stony coral. Do you dose or do large water changes?
A staghorn would look awesome in there though

yup it’s still running and has grown in well. I do have dosing pumps on this tank. Two Kamoer x1s. I dose all for reef and easy breeder phytoplankton. As for water changes, I do a monthly 25% water change. I actually have some stag corals in there. Some green and purple stag.

Let’s do a photo update dump!

Ended up cutting the toadstool. It was getting so big that it was starting to stretch frag itself and I got worried it may get a bacterial infection. So went from this...

I see on IG that you’ve added a number of Mp10s to the new tank. Do you think a mp40 would be better suited? I ask bc I am building the same tank and have an good opportunity on a used mp40.
The reason I went with more mp10s vs an mp40, and this is just a hypothesis as I’m not an sps expert, is to create more random flow patterns throughout the tank. Mp10/40 pumps are great although they have a very directed flow pattern. So my thought was more pumps running on reef crest with nine tied to each other will create a true random flow throughout the tank. Most of the species I have chosen also tend to plate as they grow so I want good flow around the top and bottom side of the coral. Only time will tell if this is a positive or negative.
