Awesome tank! I really enjoy the simplicity and natural look. The tomini tang is also really cool. I feel like you kinda made my dream tank LOL.
I follow you on instagram, R2R and on Bahama Llama Coral's YT channel, so big fan haha!
I'm already curious about your new build.
Kind regards from the Netherlands

Hahaha appreciate the kind words! I’m glad I have inspired so many people with this tank. It actually blows my mind. I was expecting a lot more people to be against it than for it because it’s not “flashy”. The new build will be a fun one for sure. The gears are always moving and perfecting. Haha

Loving this reef. Next tank I try will be along these lines. Coming from the land of chalice gorgonians bring instant gratification for height and motion- and u don’t have to drown them in blue light. Nice job!

Love this tank! I’m trying to set one up similarly right now. How do you attach your macroalgae to rocks? I’ve been using superglue and it hasn’t been working very well, hermits and snails keep knocking them off and they get shredded in power heads

Thank you. Yes absolutely add some gorgonians. They make great additions to reef tanks regardless of the spectrum of lighting you use

so to mount macros, I take either a thin rubber band or some clear fishing line and tie the macroalgae to a small rock. Then I glue the rock to the hardscape. If you glue the macro to the hardscape, the part covered in glue will most likely die and macro will fall off and float around your tank. Hope this helps!

Love this tank! Heard through the grapevine you’re getting another new tank. Deets?

new tank and stand are in place and I am beginning the plumbing this weekend!!! this setup will have a sump to maximize the biological media below because I’m only going to have one rock in my display . Call me crazy but this tank will be extra minimalist. The goal is to recreate a scene from BBC blue planet 2. More to come as the pieces fall into place. Can’t get too far ahead of myself until I know things will work out. Stay tuned!!

Oh my gosh NOW I'm excited. Curious what scene, I've only seen blue planet 10 times haha. Impatiently awaiting the updates!

I’ve always struggled with clean sand as well. I’ve tried sandsifting gobies, extra DI filter for diatoms, etc. Curious to hear your answer.

Really cool, unique tank. I noticed in all the shots, your sand looks really clean, even the deep section. Do you do a lot of cleaning of it when you do water changes or do you have sand sifters? If so, which ones?
Thanks.

Thank you! I don’t clean the sandbed during my waterchanges because I try to not disturb the deeper sandbed portions. I do have tons of nassarius snails, like a ton haha! As well I have a yellow watchman goby that sifts the sandbed and two conchs that rummage around.
