Kaylem and I collected the Gem tang this evening and it is now in the QT system with the rest, but as you can see there is a egg crate divider separating the Scopas and the Gem. This will stay for a while and I will monitor the behavior. If I feel they will tolerate each other in such a small space (unlikely) then I will remove it. I have also attached a video of the fish in the shop display tank which they sent to me yesterday. It's a spectacular specimen and I'm really happy.

I have to say that I am very surprised by the Scopas and Gem tang behavior, while obviously still separate by egg crate they are very inquisitive towards each other often meeting at the divider having a close look at one another head to head, not once have I seen one of them turn and present their rear end to the other. Their body language in these encounters is extremely relaxed. I think another 5 days like this and I might let them loose and see how they react.

Watching the Scopas interact with the Emperor and the blue tang I can clearly see this fish has a strong personality.

Here is a video of the Gem tang shortly after feeding.

The first hurdle in this grouping of fish is over. This was getting the two Zebrasoma to tolerate each other. They still have a bit of copper treatment to go and then 2 x praziquantel treatments after that. The whole family is excited to have this group of fish in the display tank but it's going to take a little more time.

At the moment I am trying to line up a powder blue, Achilles Tang and blue ring angel for when these guys are complete with their QT journey and the QT tank is available again.

Recently I decided to invest in the DND reactor as it made perfect sense. However in a large tank with only a fee very small fish and a CUC there is not much nutrients to be reduced. However I built it anyhow as in a few months it will be very useful.

Here are some pics of the display tank currently. It's running great and has the clearest most crisp water I have ever seen.

We really need some colors though.

Next few bits

I bought 2 wifi feeders which I decided to setup and fit. This will help huge with the QT system providing regular feeding in smaller multiple feeds while I am working.
Then also I have started building the cover. This is mostly for the fire fish who jump like kangaroos, also the foxface has once been spooked by room lights being switched on when the tank was dark and broke the surface.
