Do you have a personal favorite in your yard?

To many. I have spring favs, summer and fall ones. My beds circle my yard. I do some vegs and fruit trees also. what are your favorites?

I had a choice between a 12" Newtonian Telescope (with a NICE set of lenses and great filter pack) and a Reef Tank. Both are pricey ventures (Reef tanks are more expensive). My decision was based on health. I have issues lifting heavy objects. And this telescope is HEAVY. But it's SO cool! Align with a few stars and you're good to go. Dial an object you want to see and wham! It's there! With tracking, no less (when you're looking at something you become acutely aware just how fast the Earth rotates)! Whatever your looking at moves out of view in a matter of seconds, lol!

Well my original hobby was fitness/weightlifting/bodybuilding, but then I went to a carnival with my kids and one of them won a couple of goldfish. We managed to keep them alive for a few weeks. During that time I purchased a 20 gallon tank and some more fish. After that, I started going to the pet stores with my sons to look for fish, but the majority of them sold coral & saltwater, so I decided to get a large red sea tank and haven’t stopped my addiction since. I use to dedicate my mornings and weekends to working out, but now I focus more on the tank. I still manage to get my workouts in, since I have a small gym in my basement, but it’s not the same. Instead of mixing my protein shakes and adding creatine, I mix the saltwater and add alkalinity ..

I've been exploring for decades. Mostly finding instruments that 1.) I'm good at and 2.) Those I suck at. Too many people forget that life is short. And those who put off this sort of exploration are really missing out. So to use a phrase that is completely out of sync with Washington State, Good on ya!

yeah, life is short. so I'm doing everything now that I always wanted to. hell, if the boat takes on water, I'll attach wheels and sail it down the street. ;-) if it fails, the dump is around the corner.

When I was 9 or 10 I was looking at the Ring Nebula (M57) in Lyra through a borrowed 6" dobsonian telescope. It's a Planetary Nebula about 1.3 light years across. Our furthest planet, Pluto (YES, IT'S A PLANET!!!) is about 5 light HOURS away. That was when I had that epiphany, that we were small and insignificant. To give y'all perspective on distance, the nearest star (Proxima Cenauri) is 4 Light Years away. Our galaxy is 100,000 LY across, our nearest galaxy is Andromeda, 2.5 Million LY distant and the observable universe 13.78 Billion LY across. When I was looking at that little, grayish smoke ring in space, I basically tripped out. LOL, it was a little too intense for a kid!!

I would flyfish and join a private club for shooting sporting clays. I don't hunt just clay targets.

I'd be spending a lot more time focusing on the upcoming waterfowl season. Figuring out what my decoy spread will look like, what needs to be replaced, how to convince the wife i need new gear, etc.

Well I’ve collected wizard and dragon figurines for a long time. A fair number are packed away due to space constraints at the moment but I do have a small collection hanging out on the top of my tank light at the moment.

If not for reefing, I would have owned several commercial buildings and strip malls. I would have $$$ not knowing what to do and pursue my childhood dream: solve homelessness in my ‘hood.
