Long story short, got ich from some corals (only thing added in 2 months). Transferred all fish to a 55 qt running copper safe at 2.26. Noticed my yellow tang with some red around the eyes today. Been in qt for about a week. Is this something I need to worry about and or treat?

The area of concern to you is known as HLLE (head and lateral line erosion). HLLE which cause pits and flesh missing mainly in tangs, angels and some rabbitfish. It is often caused by poor water quality, high use of carbon, poor water quality (elevated nitrate and ammonia) and inadequate/poor diet. It is not life threating in any way but offers secondary infection in some cases.
Maintaining GOOD water quality and diet are often the fixes and with severe cases, some healing.
Some foods to feed tang are :
LRS herbivore diet
Formula 2 flake and frozen
TDO Pellets
small plankton
Hikari Marine cuisine
Ocean nutrition veggie diet
spirulina brine shrimp
mysis shrimp
Prime reef
Nori seaweed basted with garlic extract

Add selcon vitamins to foods occasionally

If you're talking about the red areas - is it on both sides of the fish - symmetrical? if not I would wonder about injury. Agree it looks like HLLE, but the redness is IME not normal for this. More like an injury - or an infection. Can you give more information - i.e. how long have you had the fish, etc etc etc

As said, if this is on both sides of the fish, it is HLLE or a related condition called epithelial thinning. Also as @MnFish1 said, these lesions are not usually so red. They can get infected by bacteria, or perhaps there is something in the water causing irritation (what is the ammonia level?)

Here is an article I wrote on HLLE:

When you guys said ammonia, I did a 20g water change without even checking. I have a feeling the media I put in there was not quite as seeded as I thought. I have a mix of seeded and new filters in the tank. I’m sure the fish being in a 55 from a 180 are not overly happy either, although they do seem to be settling in better. Ammonia is sitting between 0 and 0.25 as best as I can tell from my API test kit. The fact that it’s showing any (compared to my sample from the main tank) is concerning. I will keep checking daily and keep doing daily water changes until it matches my control sample. I know the bacteria will ramp up to handle the load. Thanks for the quick insight.
