ya everything was fine if you have a normal trident its basically the same, adding in the kalk mixing step and the reagent mixing which is like a 30 second thing.

The only thing i ran into which was a bit weird was once it was all set up i tried to initiate a manual test and it put it back into initializing for 20mins but then when I forced another manual test it worked.

One thing of note some might find interesting, I 3d printed needle guides as I found them helpful with the original trident, but didnt end up using them. The NP take up tubes are now made of a thin curved plastic which seems to get right to the bottom.
Awesome great information! I heard it takes a while to perform a test? Also what time does it run the tests?

It takes about 30 minutes for me (that I've paid attention to) but I have it start at 7am so I have a reading when I see it in the morning. But you can set it for any time during the day

Perfect! I was worried it was going to have a set time like the regular trident. I’ll be setting it up for the morning as well. I’m afraid that if I do it throughout the day or evening the results might fluctuate from daily feedings since I feed frozen randomly throughout the day

Both tests, scheduled, will run a bit over 1 hour.

Schedule is pretty straight forward. Select the gear icon on the NP, schedule, and set the time. Single test per day. Reagents should last around 2 months but may vary hobbyist to hobbyist based on nutrient level.

an hour or so. I have mine set to test at 2pm, but might change it to time when the lights are out. I just placed it on a table next to my coral flat for now and was concerned light bleed might occur but doesn't seem to affect anything.

What do you think of it so far?

its been really accurate through a handful of tests. I'm curious to see what happens near the end of 2 months if the chemistry really is as sensitive as Neptune wants us to think.

Are the reagents up on the xyz reagents site yet? Awesome that they handed a few out. I can’t complain about the reg trident, it’s been consistent for me. I probably just jinxed myself though. Have they said what to do with the waste yet?

You're instructed to add a neutralizing powder to an empty container and once it's full you agitate it and then dump it down the drain.
Gotcha, I was wondering if it was going to be that or an absorbent, more of a solids that would go in the bin.

You mean the neutralizing agent? I wouldn’t want someone to misunderstand and think the waste was saturated limewater and could be dosed back into the tank! Ha
That would be a nightmare... haha. Yes the powder used to neutralize the acidic waste from the trident is calcium hydroxide.

Hey it is the Internet, you never know how things will be construed! Ha Now one just needs some level sensors, an avast plank feeder filled with kalkwasser powder to automatically dump in the required amount once the water container is full, a mag stirrer or paddle mixer, and a spare dosing pump to automate the neutralizing and disposal of the waste……

Any word from support @Mac Gee?

Had a few exchanges with Customer Support over the past 2 days. Received this a few hours ago.

I’m in the same boat. I ordered mine for pickup since I live nearby and to be still waiting sucks.
