I have had my 2 NP's now for over a week. Here are some of the things I have noticed. Each test now averages about 1 and a half hours to complete. Not really a big thing IMO, but definitely something to be a where of.

After 3 days of dang near spot on testing comparing tests to the HANNA, I noticed some issues with the readings.
PO4 continued to read 0 on both NPs as opposed to the HANNA reading 0.03 on the LPS tank, and 0.05 on the SPS tank.

NO3 readings was 45 NP, 40.9 HANNA on the SPS tank
23.4 NP, 22.8 HANNA on the LPS tank.

The NO3 readings are not that big of a deal for me. However, PO4 is a HUGE deal. If I rely on the NP numbers to determine my P04, reading 0...Im thinking my PO4 has bottomed out, and I'm looking to correct that issue.

I will be leaving things alone for a few weeks and see if this starts to get better and will report back with my findings.

.03 on a Hanna is as good as 0. Their margin of error is +- .03 plus 5% of the reading.

This is very true and these types of comparisons will always lead some to roll their eyes across all automation tools. Also did I notice the color change, did I shake long enough, did I get all of the reagents in or out of the packet, etc. It is difficult to get hobbyist on the same page when discussing these types of things. Some want exact, others are looking at trends, others standard deviation.

I’m working with support on my PO4 Accuracy. First two tests aligned with Hanna, last several days seem way off (Hanna .28/NP .08). I received the Hanna calibration standard today and it tested within range of the standard…I’m pretty confident the trident is the one off. Nitrates seem spot on compared to Hanna. I asked about calibration and was advised it shouldn’t be necessary.

Seeing the same unfortunately.

First few days both were spot on. Then something happened and Phosphate just reads zero despite every other tester reading 0.13.

My initial thoughts.... Either something is off with the reagents (not shelf stable) or Nitrate tests are throwing off the phosphate tests. Be curious to see if the people running into phosphate issues are also running higher Nitrate levels (20+).

My nitrates run 18-20ish. I sent Neptune support another email after receiving the Hanna Phosphorus UL standard, I did several more tests a moment ago and all tested within the standard 90-110ppb. I'll be interested in Neptunes response.

So myself, you and chondro all experiencing same issue. All running in that 20ppm Nitrate area. Not saying correlation is causation but hmm.

Have you also contacted support?
Not to this point no. I myself was still running through diagnostics. Checking tubes, re-priming lines, ensuring no leaks, ensuring clean samples coming in and watched the vial through a whole testing cycle (won't get that hour back ).

If you don't mind me asking how close are you expecting the results to be?

I watched the vial through most of the test and all seemed fine. I just think its odd my first 2 tests were nearly identical to the Hanna, then dropped from .2 to .05. Hope it works out...part of being an early adopter I guess.

For me, I generally like to run a PO4 around 0.1, I doesn't need to be exact, showing 0.6-1.5 + would be acceptable to me. Not helpful is getting a reading of 0 when it's nowhere near zero lolol.

Apologies. I mean how close to each test set result. NP to Hanna, etc.

Yeah I'm not panicked. I'm assuming there is going to be a learning curve here. New frontiers.

My experience was the same. Tested with Hanna in the 0.14 ballpark consistently. NP Results went: 0.18, 0.17, 0.18, 0.11, 0.01, 0, 0, 0.01, 0. Obviously that near zero scared me as I've lost many an SPS at zero but a bunch of checks make me not believe that number one bit.

Ballpark. I don't need 0.1 to equal 0.1. But if one reads 0.10 and the other reads 0, then there is some concern as those numbers can have vastly different results in coral health.

Agree,I was hoping for +/-.05-.08. Cant do much with one reading .28 and the other .08. I was hoping to be able see if nutrients were dropping while traveling and be able to dose NO3/PO4 with a DOS when needed.
