I’m genuinely curious what Reefers are hoping this product will solve for them.

I travel a lot for work so just being able to track trends and have another tool at my disposal while im away is worth it to me. Its very expensive for what it is but its another tool that gives me some piece of mind when im gone.

Next big ticket item needs to be a whole house generator!

Mine is the same for nitrate. Phosphate is .03 off now. 3 weeks in.

Are you manually testing? Or is this from the scheduled tests and you’re running a Hannah test in parallel to the scheduled NP?
Im manually testing with the hanna to see where im at. And i did run couple of manual tests on the trident this has been a bad experience so far

Have you tested with a Hanna or similar to compare. Mine was rock solid for 2 weeks. Week 3 it is dwindling to 0.00. I’m at .01 on the NP and 3 Hanna tests have me at .06.

How far mine is off doesn’t seem to be linear, when NP .01 reads .10-.13 Hanna. I was changing out dosing lines a couple days ago and accidentally overdosed PO4 and NP read .09 and Hanna .35, ugh.

I haven’t in probably 2 weeks, will check with the ppb Hanna tomorrow and post back. I’ve had the NP since launch day fwiw.

Totally agree. And to take it a step further, it appears that everyone is still using a Hanna to measure the Trident’s accuracy… lol so what’s the point? Especially for a test that most only do every couple of weeks to make sure things aren’t out of whack.
When the marketing outshines the reality. …

It’s a brand new product and as an early adopter, I want to see how it performs against a generally accepted standard in the hobby. Once some correlation is made, I don’t plan to test any more than I do with the trident which is every couple months.

i tested with my ppb hanna tester yesterday as a comparison. the NP is reading 0.11ppm phosphate, the hanna read 54 ppb which is 0.166ppm.......a little wider range then I would like to see but not terrible. Will re-test in a day or two.

If I remember from reading, Neptune advised against manual trident tests as they’re the ones that have the variation. The auto scheduled tests seem to be in line with Hannah.

I've never heard of that be it the Trident or NP. The only difference is that the user initiated the test vs the scheduler. There is no difference.

I just tested w/ Trident & Hanna. They read pretty different

Hanna
NO3 - 22.8
PO4 -0.56

Trident
NO3 - 38.5
PO4 -0.86

I'm also sending in a water sample to triton for ICP test. In the past Triton has lined up with my hanna's pretty close

Their support directly told me not to use manual testing and only scheduled testing.

that just sounds incredibly strange. just change your scheduled testing to 1 min after you want to do a manual test and then after the test change it back to your original time.

I don't know the back story obviously but maybe they didn't want you running additional tests while they sort through everything. Especially if you are sending log files. I can't imagine hitting a manual test doing anything differently than letting the scheduler do the work.

In any case thanks for the info. Doesn't make sense to me but maybe it shouldn't. Hope your day is well.

On Saturday I had a spike on phosphate due to reefroids, was a test on that Saturday morning with my hanna tester and the reading came out to be 0.36 ppm, minutes later the auto schedule from neptune NP came in as “0” ppm
That was on Saturday, on Monday the neptune tech team contacted me with a case resolution, that the technician find no issues with the machine and all is working properly

Mind blowing
