Ty for ur response!!! I am currently working it out, I just want it gone now. But I know nothing good happens fast in a reef!
For sure! Don't rush into any fixes; you'll end up causing more issues! Just take your time, and you will get rid of it

My 15G...Not very good. Neglected for 2 weeks. Its been cloudy. But I could see my coral mostly. Well I was WRONG. Ran UV sterilizer for 3 days plus swapped carbon out. Cleared up a bit. Started seeing bad things once getting a bit clearer. Did 40% wc. Water was clear and things looked gruesome.

Torch had some receding flesh band. My 4 headed duncan coral had 3 bail outs. (none of my ducans have been happy lately in that tank) I pulled out a single head one a month ago and put into another tank which is happy now. I never figured out what the cause was since all my other coral were happy at the time. Anyways that 4 headed duncan is now down to 1 that is likely not surviving.

I have 3 zoas that gave two craps and flourished.
My Blastomussa was deflated during those 2 weeks of cloudiness. Defiantly not happy but now are fluffed up after the wc.
Litho couldn't be found until I did the wc. Found it burred in the sand. Danm urchin!!
Cloves are doing what they do. Taking over my rock...

Found a bristle worm too! Sucker is 5 inches at least. First time seeing it lol. Also apstasia took over my tank. At least 7 and 2 were big. One had tentacles at least 6 inches long. Slapped some asptasia x on those suckers yesterday.

Overall its been 2 days after the water change. And all my corals are looking happier again. So time to get back on testing every other day.

I was considering a change in the opposite direction but I'm hesitant to change anything and I like ESV.... I thought I was having issues with the cost until I actually priced out the balling light and AFR for my consumption. In your opinion, what is it about the ESV that's giving your tank a boost?

I think it's the pH boost I get, and my Alkalinity is far more stable using ESV. AFR served me well when my tank was young, but over time, I noticed some drawbacks (SPS dominant).

The main drawback is that alkalinity was challenging to keep stable due to the Formate metabolization time. Under high demand, this felt like a moving target I could never get quite right. With ESV, it's rock solid.

There were some other issues with AFR, too, like the bacterial goo growing in my containers, which clogged my RODI lines over time, requiring me to recalibrate and flush the lines periodically.

Mine looks like it always does. Not as good as last year when I had to trim all my corals to eliminate invasive sponge, but it is growing back.

Well, my trident has fallen apart, literally again. Woke up and three tubes in the back had come off and one of the buttons will not push. Neptune will send out number 4 soon.
I can't seem to get the flow on one of my wavemakers right, and still facing some diatoms. Other than that, everything is great!

No, it looked better a year ago but I wanted to eliminate a tankful of beautiful, but invasive sponge that covered many of my corals especially gorgonians so I had to severly trim everything. They are coming back but it took decades to grow some of them.

I did lose my scopes (after three years) and my giant Cynarina (after over two years). Otherwise, all fish corals and nuisance algae look good.

Tank was doing great, but noticed my All-for-reef dosing line popped off because it was clogged so my alk dropped to 6.6 (usually 8). I cleaned the line, resumed dosing, and coral look fine so it doesn't appear to have affected my tank. reminder to clean your AFR dosing lines.
Same thing .... alk was "strange"
i find afr tube 90% clogged after ~1,5-2years...

Considering I went out of town for two weeks. My tank is doing just fine other than stubborn film algae!
I would take that over dinos. I've promoted the growth of other algeas in my tank to the point that my dinos have gone from one common one to the next, to one now that seems to exclussively stick to other algaes.

I can't believe how bad they are in my tank.

I spend at least an hour a night cleaning them up, and it appears the only way I will ever get rid of them is to let my SPS die. But currently all of the livestock corals included are happy so I just have to keep siphoning 90% of my tank volume back into my sump everynight to siphon them all out.

That's how my tank is doing today!

Yea for an established reef, thats good. Im still under the 6 month mark so I test very frequently and I like to log all my activities. Interesting how PO4 and NO3 stabilize over the course of a few months. The tank starts to take on its own personality. I was up and down for quite awhile with nutrients.

I am diatom filtering my tank now to stir up the gravel over my reverse undergravel filter and clean out the pores in the old rock.
