Its a good color for sure, especially with white :D

Are you familiar with anti siphon holes and emergency tests? Your return plumbing goes pretty deep so they will be extra important for you.
For sure ! Haha
Yea I need to drill/melt a little hole on the bottom side but not directly on the underside of both returns right?
Thanks again for helping me man! You stumbled upon my thread at the right time ! Hahah

Its a tool you can get on amazon or at home depot, in my electrical section oddly enough...

You put the PVC end inside the tool and give it a spin. Flip the tool and do it again. It takes the flat edge and bevels it, allowing the glue to fill in and seal from 3 sides of the pipe versus just the bottom edge. I havent used it every time, but started using it more these days. Less failed joints (barely any before and none now). Also removes burs and rough edges.

This will come in handy when I need to upgrade my main 90 lol.

No problem bud. Just finished reading this whole thing... Wow you went through some adventures to get here lol. Those LED's were intense! Glad I was able to help.

Easiest way is to drill with 1/4 inch bit. Makes it clean and small enough that nothing larger than a pod can get in there. I prefer the bottom, but a lot of folks do the side. The reason i do bottom is that there is not a risk of it spraying water across the surface when water gets a little low from lack of top off. This opinion will most likely vary :D

Also, yes, both returns. What if you loose power when a snail is cleaning the only hole you have in place for safety? This is why i do them both. and it 100% does not hurt anything having them there (unless its to low and not useful or to high and spraying water out of it making noise).

Sounds good, I’ll do that today. Just like less than an inch above the water line?

Once you have the operating level of the tank, i go about 1/2 inch below. If you are above, it will spray water and make noise/saltcreep/annoying...

the other reason i go below, is if you go to low and test the power outage and the sump gets to high, you drill a hair higher. If you are to high above the water line and it sprays everywhere... you are replacing pipe or trying to patch.

Makes sense to me! Thank you!

Seems its about time for more pictures.....
Lol I agree! Just going to extend the last pvc segment to the return pump today, drill little holes in the return nozzles, then let it all dry for 24hours. Then water!

Ohh lol. My original reef was a biocube, which is now leaking. So I’m doing a 40b build to replace that. My 90 is still doing good. I can get pics of that, lol.

Woo my extender piece fit first try! I also added an additional union for more ease of access because I had some trouble getting this pipe in and out.
