Getting It Shipped: Which Carriers Do You Trust For Reefing?

Hey Reefers!
Most of us get something shipped to our homes. But sometimes reefing gear and livestock can get lost or delayed. Which carriers have been the best for your location? I’ve noticed that it varies for me depending on what service I use, but UPS and Amazon have been pretty solid in my area. How about you? Feel free to choose multiple, and explain how they vary for you.

All about location. Around here UPS and Amazon are the only reliable carriers. USPS sucks and FedEx is bottom of the barrel.

Selected other. I don’t believe shipping live animals is good. My experience is 50% doa. Then I believe it’s weakens them to the point that survival in tank is drastically reduced. The smallest thing ends them. I’m speaking of coral here. I’ve never had fish or other shipped to me. I’ve got some very good shops within an hour or so drive. As far as gear. Don’t care at all who the shipper is 99% have shipping guarantees.

UPS is better for me, BUT I make it a habit to ship when weather is favorable, spring and fall. I have a regional UPS hub, so if I order from a Northeastern vendor it has been overnight. Fed Ex goes to Memphis. I shipped seafood mid winter from Rhode Island to Vermont...it got stuck in New Jersey then to Memphis, took two days. I could drive to Rhode Island in 5 hours. I don't ground anything from Florida anymore either from the popular snail vendor....it usually takes an extra day.

Amazon is quick for dry goods.

Ive struggled with UPS a few times in the Bay Area. For me Fed Ex has been more dependable
