Normal wc. One of my anthias has a pop eye. She must have injuried it when I did my WC or during the night. Hopefully it heals in a couple of days. Acans are looking better after last weeks feeding. Phosphate doubled since last week so I changed the gfo/carbon. Alk creeped up a bit so I adjusted my doser. I also added my snails from qt a few days ago. (25 big ceriths, 5 trochus, 10 nerites, and a turbo). I saw the trochus spawning last night after my WC.

Parameters
Alk 8.7ppm
Calc 430ppm
Mag 1430ppm
Salinty 1.025
PO4 1.2ppm
Nitrate 15.2ppm

Normal WC. Tank is looking good. Purple hammer is a bit deflated today. The eye on the anthias is still looking the same. I purchased a fish trap to try to catch and treat it. It should be here tuesday. Happy blue friday!!!

Had an anthias get itself stuck in the rocks and die. Rescued it by flipping the rock over and letting it swim out. Lasted a few hours after that and died. Really starting to dislike fish. Other than that the week has been fine. Fish trap arrived, but the other anthias eye is getting better so I am going to let it be.

It has been one of those weeks :(. The bad; all five of my anthias went bonkers like the one from last week and died slowly throughout the week. This in turn ticked my tangs off whom proceeded to knife my butterfly to death. I tried a large wc and fresh carbon to no avail. My wife and I both think it was cyanide poisioning from when the fish were collected. The good; all the other fish have calmed down and corals are still doing great. I ordered my 4th radion xr30 gen 5 pro yesterday for black friday. I also have a par meter rental through my local club for the beginning of the month to check my lighting. I also ordered two more wrasses for the tank from tsmaquatics which are due mid december.

It has been a few weeks. Nothing has changed since the last post. Corals are growing pretty well. I built an eggcrate box for my macro algae so it doesn't get all over the sump. Going to a local fragswap tomorrow to rent a par meter and possibly pick up a few corals. Going to map out my tank and add my fourth xr30 this week.

I went to the fragswap and borrowed the par meter. I spent about 2hrs setting my lights back up and adding the fourth XR30 Pro. I found out my par numbers were about half the recomended amount. I set my schedule to ramp up to the desired level over 3 months starting at 50% to not shock anything. I also purchased a few acros; Motor City corals Tigers Blood, WWC Heartbreaker, Dragon Tails something or other, and another tabling acro. I'll sort the names out eventually.

Quick update: My order from tsm aquatics came in today. Currently have the yellow (Halichoeres chrysus) and Orange and black fairy wrasses in my acclimation box. Both fish are eating. I also recieved my pikachu and blue tort from cherry corals. I also put my yellow tang in the sump for a time out since he has been fighting with my bristle tooth and to prevent aggression with the new wrasses.

This week there is some good news and bad news.
The bad:
Unfortunately the tort rtned overnight and was a skeleton in the morning. The pikachu is hanging in there but still looking pale. I believe they got too cold during shipping.
The good:
Cherry corals was kind enough to give me a gift card for the value of both corals. I plan on buying another tort at some point and picking them up rather than having them shipped. The new wrasses are doing well and were released into the tank after 3 days. There was some minor squabbling but nothing major. All the fish are happier with the yellow tang in the sump. I plan on giving it one more try in another week and if he is still an butt he is going up for sale. Sump was vacuumed today. Tank is still a little cloudy from the wc. Going to citric acid soak the skimmer and return pump tomorrow.

Tank is still chugging along. Adding a frogspawn and hammer I got awhile ago from qt later. New wrasses are doing well. Debating trying the yellow tang again in the dt. Fish are acting so much better without him though.

Weekly maintance complete. Added some more sand to the tank. Few new coral additions. Acroporas from cherrycorals: OG Green Slimer, WWC pink passion, and a PC Rainbow. Also added a small hammer and a frogspawn from qt. I also placed the pikachu in front of the paradise birdsnest. I purchased some chaeto and red ogo from algae barn to grow along with the sea lettuce. Hopefully something will take off in the refugium so I don't have to rely on gfo. Going to the Lansing show this sunday so I am sure will have a few new corals soon.

Nothing new to report for the week. The pikachu I thought was dieing a month ago is showing some new growth around the base and is coloring up nicely. All the corals are doing well and growing. Overall happy atm.

Bought a pentair 40w UV sterilizer during the brs presidents day sale. Hooked it up today. Have it running off of a simplicity DC 1000 pump at a rate of 180gph. It is pulling water from the skimmer chamber and dumping it back into the return.

It's nice to see a fellow 750XXL so shiny and clear! I guess I'm going to have to get started on scraping the coralline off the back of my tank because you're making me feel guilty! I'm glad I'm not the only one who has the occasional challenge keeping splashes (etc.) in the sump to a minimum. Everything is looking really great!

I lost a lyretail shortly after introducing a batch of five anthias (still haven't found the body and probably won't), so I'm not sure if it was also a spelunking misadventure. The other 4 are getting along for the most part and spend a lot of time cruising with the school of green chromis.

Thank you. I just scrape it once a week with a kent long handle scraper. Once the corals get too big to get back there I probably won't anymore. I gave up on anthias. I'm going to get a few more wrasses and maybe another tang. Possibly a mandarin dragonet at some point.
