As promised most of my corals finished qt this week. Added some kind of pectinia (if you know the name let me know), small acan colony, jack o' latern lepto, metershower cyphastrea, blasto, gold hammer, long tentacle plate coral, a rainbow bowerbanki ( i think), and started my zoa garden. (left to right) sunny D's, scrambled eggs, rainbow incenerators, magicians, armor of god, nirvanas, AOLs, rastas, unknown, and vamps. Sticks seem to be doing well. Also have dropped the phosphate to 0.09 with increased GFO. Sorry about the photo bombing tangs.

Well I made the mistake of going to my lfs today for frag plugs. They happened to have a trio of pyramid butterfly's eating and into a 2week copper qt. I obviously had to have them so here they are in my qt tank in 2.5ppm copper power.

Nothing new. Cleaned the glass and did a wc. Just wanted to share that the cyano is finally gone and the hair algae is dying back. Also pyramid butterflys are doing great in qt.

Setup my refugium a few days ago. So far phosphate is holding at 0.06ppm and nitrate is between 10-20ppm and dropping. Decided to try ulva instead of chaeto. I also removed my gfo/carbon reactor when i started the fuge. Going to run just carbon in the future as needed hopefully.

Everything is doing well. The refugium is dropping my phosphates too low so I started dosing neophos. Nitrate is coming down slowly I think. I purchased a Hanna HR Nitrate checker to get an accurate number. The salifert test has been difficult to read. Pyramid butterflys are still doing great in QT. Copper is almost done. Did a 40gal wc today.

Well I couldn't resist; and as much as I like a natural reef an encrusted falcon was too hard to pass up. My wife chose the jack 'o latern lepto after assisiting with finding the right location. I would have prefered my meteorite cyphastrea, but happy wife... Hopefully it looks awesome a year from now. Also added about 20 snails from qt to display a few days ago.

Did my WC today. Pyramid butterflys should be done with qt next week. Just gave them their second dose of prazi. Added an acan lord, dragonsoul favia, and paradise favia from my coral qt.

Cleaned the tank and removed some cyano. The fuge doesn't seem to be keeping up. Going to test tomorrow and put the GFO back in if needed. Added my pyramid butterflys to the dt after several days in the acclimation box. The yellow tang and bristle tooth were not happy at first and comenced bullying. They seem to have settle down and none of the fish are injured. Unfortunately one of the pyramids didn't make it through the second dose of prazi ☹. I have a bunch of corals coming that I ordered from cherry corals $20 sale. Also have a large clean up crew order on the way.

Did water tests today. I increased the timer on the fuge light from 8hrs to 12hrs last week. Seems to be working. Guess I won't fire the gfo back up. Numbers are headed in the right direction. Hopefully thats good enough for the 3 acros I'll be picking up friday.

Still dealing with my cyano. I increased the flow on my mp40s and continue to make adjustments to try to address the issue. Did a wc yesterday and put in some acros, chalices, and a grafted monti cap all from the cherry corals sale last weekend. I have several other corals in the qt tank as well as 70 snails from reef cleaners.

Well its been a rough week. My bluethroat managed to jump out of my tank despite the lid and I found one of my two pyramids dead this afternoon for no apparent reason . No issue with parameters. Corals and other fish look good.

Setup my redsea 4 head dosing pump last night. I wanted to go with ecotech versas but they are never in stock. Dosing ESV B-ionic. Still might do a kalk stirrer later on. Cleaning an old sicce powerhead to place under the dosing lines as I don't currently like how low the flow is for mixing. If I aim it at the fuge it will increase the flow there as well killing two birds.

Cyano was not as bad this week. Sucked it out again and throughly rinsed the sand removed in the process and replaced it in the tank. Added the last few corals from the frag/qt. Still a bit cloudy from the wc.

That sucks. I found my Naso buried in my elegance the other day (not sure if it actually snagged him or flow carried the body there).

I ordered a new lid for the jumping. Still not sure why the pyramid died. The remaining pyramid seems to be fine. Nothing is worse than finding dead fish.

Just took some pictures now that most of the corals are happy again. Tested the water. My new mag test kit seems to be correct. The old one was giving me much higher numbers.
