Good to meet you @Cthulukelele ! Started reading through your thread early this morning. Might be able to finish it later today. I noticed a few other friends (very loosely used term) here and thought I’d jump in for fun.

Looking forward to following!

Biggest discovery thusfar in freshwater: plants grow WAYYYY faster than coral. There's like 10-15 new leaves on the bacopa and like 2 or 3 new shoots since putting in the tank. New leaf growing in on both Anubias, new stem on the Limnophila and several new little pompoms. The Mosses are sprouting in different directions from stem. Pretty much all the plants are noticeably putting on leaves in days vs weeks/months with coral. That's nice
At it's prime, my tank grew about 12 bunches of cuttings for the LFS a week. It becomes burdensome.

That sounds both wonderful and annoying

It was. it is also 75 gallons and was running co2. My floaters were the real issue.
I'm planning on snagging some dwarf water lettuce and some red root floater at some point. Will I regret it? I imagine in a very accessible 15 gallon I could conceivably remove it all if I wanted

The rrf I had took a while to get situated, then grew like crazy. strong light makes them more red and they don't like a lot of flow. you could feed any overages to your herbivores and there is usually a market for them on the book of faces. no experience with water lettuce.

I mainly like the dwarf water lettuce for its roots. Make a good jungle for critters.

They may get nibbled on though. They look great though! I almost put terrestrial plants over my tank for the web of roots.
I'm building a basket in the back for Philodendron and Pothos. Might do a Monstera or Swiss Cheese start as well.
