Really? They are so easy to plant for me lol. Worried I’ve been hurting the plants now lol.
It is probably me. I also use a more gravelly substrate so some things don't stay well.

Water is clearing up! I actually think this is a bacterial bloom because of the submerged driftwood for the last week plus the biofilm coated plants from my local store.

I have 2 updates 1 great 1 terrible. My blue flasher wrasse managed to jump right through the tiny gap in my canopy and passed away. First fish I've ever lost to jumping as there is a 5 square inch area to make through. My gf and I gave him a funeral. Sad days.

Good news is I added a 1 spot foxface I got for cheap. It's doing quite well already.

Have you been dosing your Purigen?
Yes

I cried a lot. Felt so negligent. I had been meaning to patch that hole for months. Second hardest I've taken a fish loss ever after my Valentini

When I lost my Angel I almost threw the towel….. I’m so sorry you lost the wrasse. I want to say I know what that feels but everyone feels differently about these things. Hope you don’t beat yourself about it. At least you enjoyed him and gave him a good life, one he deserved. :)

Here is the new guy with his new frenemy. Roaming tank for algae together and occasionally flashing their spines or scalpel at each other lol. It's like a tentative friendship in the fish world.

Sorry for your loss. I remember when I lost my first Naoko. That was really tough. Second wasn't much easier. Haven't had the guts for a third.

However congrats on your fox. I so rarely see one-spots and I love the fox spot!

Biggest discovery thusfar in freshwater: plants grow WAYYYY faster than coral. There's like 10-15 new leaves on the bacopa and like 2 or 3 new shoots since putting in the tank. New leaf growing in on both Anubias, new stem on the Limnophila and several new little pompoms. The Mosses are sprouting in different directions from stem. Pretty much all the plants are noticeably putting on leaves in days vs weeks/months with coral. That's nice

Lol I think I'm lucky because my city water is quite soft and appropriate for plants

Off topic, but I just tried to pronounce your screen name out loud... It did not go well.
