Well maybe they are ramping up stock from all the original backorders.

Sounds hopeful

That'd be nice. I have 125 packets coming my way and I could really use em'. Did a waterchange on one qt today and plan to do the other tomorrow. I'm confident my math was right but that digital reading would be awesome right about now

I had them ship in 2 shipments.
One with the tester and 6 reagents.
Second with just reagent refills.

I have been testing sparingly until the refills come in. I can only do 4 more tests till then. ;Sorry

I know the feeling. I started with 2 testers, and 25 reagents. So 37 total. With all my testing I only have a few left! Plenty ordered!

I spoke to someone at Hanna the other day. About something else, but mentioned that the hr copper checker was probably on fire because of recent online discussion. He exclaimed 'So that's it!' or something similar, and then mentioned that they currently had 52 orders for the checker yet to ship.

they should give all the members in this forum a nice discount or at least a free one for @HotRocks with a lifetime of free refills :)
They ought to put him on the payroll. ;)
Let's say about a 5% commission on all those sales they may never would have had without HotRocks. Come on @Hanna Instruments :D

Fish are showing symptoms today. Couple are switching thier heads and two are reclusive. I just did a freshwater dip of all the butterflies in hopes they will get some relief from it. Don’t have the means to do a bath but did what I could. I have the tank at 2 with copper. Couple are still eating some. Now it’s just waiting it out I guess.
Thanks for asking.

Head twitching can either be flukes or sometimes butterflies do this in the absence of, Ive never really known why!

I did a freshwater dip of all the fish before putting them in the qt and did prazpro for 24 hrs. before this all started. I am leaving the light off on the tank and only an overhead in the room for daylight hours. Trying to keep things as stressless as possible . Not counting the freshwater dip and preceding round up of fish.

But you started over with a clean tank now, correct? You have only dosed coppersafe at 2.0ppm? No other meds?

I changed half the water and ran charcoal over night. This morning I started adding copper. I reached 2 this afternoon. No other meds added.

Good deal. Now 30 days maintaining the theraputic level. Keep an eye on your fish, for secondary infections.

You guys kill me, lol. I don't expect anything in return. While I would appreciate anything they throw my way, the more important thing here is... They have shown that they care, by looking further into the product to validate my findings. That in itself speaks volumes about them as a company, they easily could have blown it off. They do have a great product and an opportunity to sell a ton of them in my personal opinion. The great thing is if it can save people the frustration and aggravation that I went through in the past, its a win for all of us, and brings me joy. I think all of us here who have used the product, know what the outcome will be, and I look forward to seeing what others who have already ordered think as they receive their testers. Personally I do believe this is a game changer for the hobby, and the use of copper in medicating fish.

UPDATE on my QT Experiment. I reached the therapeutic Level Late Sunday night (I took it up to 1.8ppm). I am going to test again tomorrow night, to make sure I remain stable. (Much different than my previous batches of QT with coppersafe, my fish are acting normal, and eating well) Fingers Crossed! I just don't have enough reagents to continue daily testing. Plus @4FordFamily has a batch in one of his QT's that arrived over the weekend, and need to keep a couple reagents for him, for when he begins copper! Not knowing exactly when the backorders will be fulfilled.

I did ~9g waterchange out of the ~28g of water in qt2 (flame and rhomboid females and 2 b/w ocellaris clowns). I'm disabled so I don't fill the buckets entirely..Huge mess when I do. 1.81ppm was 25ml and about .89ml/g. I dosed the new water with 4ml per bucket figuring I'd be right around .88ml/g and stay near the 1.81.

I really wanted to save the last packet in case of an emergency but I'm dealing with velvet..It'd be more of an emergency if I didn't double check my math and slip below, or jump higher than, therapeutic. Anyway, the result was 1.78 in my qt. I absolutely love this device.

It is truly impressive isn't it? For the price point, once you see it in person, it would be hard to move forward without its use! Thanks for contributing!
Its so accurate, and I cannot make it fail (As long as you follow the test procedure properly)! I have tried, trust me.

Until the day CP or some future wonder drug is deemed wrasse and anthias safe I'll never go without one.

Unless of course Humblefish decides to get in on the rare wrasse trade...Hint hint, nudge nudge ;)

Tips for Using @Hanna Instruments High Range Copper Checker
-Make sure your cuvettes are very clean prior to use. Wash, Rinse and Dry Immediately after each use.
-Make sure the sample water you are testing is free of any debris
-Place the cuvette into the tester the same direction for both the zero reading and the test reading. (Keeping the 10ml marking on the glass facing forward is a good way to accomplish this)
-Tap or swirl the cuvette to remove any air bubbles prior to each time you place into tester
-Make sure your cuvette is completely dry and free of fingerprints each time you place into tester. Handle the cuvette by the lid once clean.
-There is a trick to getting all of the reagent into the cuvette, watch the video on the first post of this thread.

Keep in mind, this really no different than visual test methods. When you add the reagent, it changes the water to various shades of purple. The darker the tint, the higher the copper level. The Tester shines light through the sample and measures the amount of light passing through to provide the digital reading. Anything that can interfere with the process is what you want to prevent. Just food for thought!
