can a arrow crab, "host"

hi people I've recently noticed some odd behavior for my arrow crab. he used to climb all over the tank kind of picking and proding, you know crab stuff. but recently he seems to have fell in love with my toadstool leather.... I cant really describe it but hes constantly hovering and cleaning it, and while he does aggitate it from time to time he's never done any harm to it. and the leather doesnt seem to realese its slime tentacales on him. anyone seen anything like this or is it just the spot hes chosen?
