I’ll have to check that out. I don’t think I’m doing anything that day.

Back 10+ years ago I did MARS events, I think that’s what they called themselves. Back in the RC days. I looked on facebook for reef clubs and saw BAR and not BAR and decided I didn’t feel like trying to navigate drama.
Yeah I’ve only been part of BAR for a little over a year so I don’t know any of the old drama but for the most part it’s pretty chill now. There’s the other Bay Area Facebook groups like the one you mentioned that I’m also a part of. A lot of people are a part of both honestly with the exception of probably the people that started each group. It’s not as much drama as you think. The VP of Bar currently is also an admin on Not BAR. So for the most part everyone gets along. It’s mostly just the old timers that have issues with each other

Welcome to the forum! I started the hobby a year ago. Joined BAR last Fall and it has been great. Nice group of folks and I have saved a lot of money since the club has allowed me to barrow PAR meter, Gryphon Band Saw (super useful), participate in several group livestock orders, and get free coral.

At the last frag swap I got 8 free coral frags including a Walt Disney tenuis. I also won a bunch of Fauna Marin products via the raffle.

Well if anyone of you California guys around Vacaville want some free green zoas, come and get them. They’re starting to over take everything. There is bubble algae in the tank so it needs whatever QT, dip or clean up you do.

A new store just opened up in Fairfield. About 20 minutes from my house.

Islander corals. Its a small store. He said he has plans to put in another couple tanks. Only been open 3 weeks. Had a nice selection and what I thought were good prices. I brought home a gold galaxia.
