Not sure I understand.

I am not sure why it happens to every new tank I add. I clean them well before I add them to the rest of the system.

This “new” tank actually came from a buddy who was selling off his stuff. It was up and running until the day I bought it. I let it dry out and scrubbed off all his old coralline and rinsed it well.

This happens to me wether I bought it new like the lowboys or used. It doesn’t bother me too much as I know it doesn’t stick around long. The main nastiness is already gone and tomorrow I’m gonna buy some extra turbo snails to take care of what’s left.

I just added a new frag tank too and had the same thing happen, Im not sure if there is anything you can do to avoid it. It doesnt hurt anything.
Sure until u throw a new frag pack with a Baton Rouge in there because there’s no room in the main display and it gets destroyed
Farmer ty might have to get that off u after my frag tank gets rid of it’s ugliness

I added a lot of expensive frags to my new frag tank and nothing happened to them. if dinos is close to them just blow it off a couple times a day and like Bubba did just add a couple turbo snails.

Dont want to derail his great thread though!

I know I asked a little big ago, but what are the top 5-10 corals you own in regular lighting :)

Sorry if this has been asked but is the BC Bubblebath Unicorn the same as the PR Fruity Pebbles?
The are the same. Here is where Reinaldo (owner of pirates reef) talks about it.

Bubba that what my frag tank looked like for about 2 months. Was tied into my main display tank and sump. Never saw a thing happen in my display. Frag tanks looking much better now! I may of missed it but is that are you using as a frag tank I thought I read somewhere you were using a lowboy or something like that. But this looks like a rubber tote.

Things have been changing quit a bit on what I like. A lot of my older corals were my favorites as they were grown out well and I could fully see their colors. I think in the next couple months there is gonna be a big shift in what I personally like the best. A lot of my frags in the frag tank are starting to put out some branches and it changes the way a coral looks in a big way. For now I would say this is my list with some I excited to see as the branches continue to grow.

1. Mattv Psycho asylum
2. BC Aquatic-mam
3. Home wrecker
4. "lady in pink" (I think it's really RRA UOP) but this one looks better than the one in my display as it gets hit with way more par
5. BC bubblebath unicorn/PR fruity pebbles

Some that I am watching and pretty excited about.
WWC All star - finally got some extra branches growing. I think this would possibly be one of the nicest corals out there
BC Backdraft
Hung's rainbow
TSA Rainbow fusion

One that I want back is the Mattv rainbow envy. I lost mine during that tank issue and it was looking really good.

Losing the Mattv Rainbow envy was such a shock. I took this pic literally the day before I lost it. I came out the next morning and it had RTN. It looked healthy as could be. I ended up losing a handful of corals during that time.

Thats a nice list! I think I am going to buy the MattV Psycho Asylum soon and also the Bubblebath unicorn/fruity pebbles.

Dang sorry to hear about the MattV Rainbow Envy. It is by far my favorite coral in my tank right now and I honestly dont think that will change. I just wish it grew faster, mine is so slow for some reason but has great colors. I am thinking of cutting a big branch off it and see what happens

Maybe it's just my tanks. @FarmerTy added a new tank, maybe he didn't have it happen.
Happened to me when I plumbed in a frag tank to my display. Cheap jebao UV always gets rid of the dinos and some turbos got the hair algae. I also found it really helpful to cover all the eggcrate with tiles.
