Brought home a pair of Storm clowns yesterday. They seem healthy and are eating pellets already. This morning while feeding I noticed this spot on one of their tails. The fin looks slightly tattered with some slime coat damage. I observed this particular clown fighting with another clown of similar size while at the store. 3 clowns housed in the store tank. The two I purchase seemed paired off. Could it just be damage from fighting? Other than that they are active, eating, breathing and swimming normally.

Tank is 24 gallon nano
4months old
Temp 77°
Ph 8.2
Nh4 0ppm
No2 0ppm
No3 25ppm

THIS IS A FIN RAY ISSUE AND NOT IN ALIGNMENT WITH BROOK NOR FIGHTING BUT LIKELY INJURY. FIGHTING LEAVES SHREDDING AND BITE MARKS. (Oops on caps lock)
Assure it is gradually clearing and not becoming a bacterial issue. If so, treat in separate tank using Seachem Neoplex

1. Thanks for circling. 2. Paranoid (only because it does not look like brook) - 3. I would carefully watch it since its likely that it's a shipping injury - as compared to a disease that started overnight. I'm guessing you did not seperate/QT the fish after shipping.

Thanks for the replies! I feel better. I have never seen brook in person so I just wanted to make sure.

FWIW - I'm not sure it isn't 'brook'. However I would carefully watch for any symptoms that are upcoming.

Update:
Woke up this morning and he had obvious progression of tissue loss on his tail. Set up a hospital tank and started kanaplex treatment.
