I think that’s a good suggestion, especially for the awkward space behind my rockscape.

I was thinking about buying two of those bright frag magnetic frag racks @sfin posted. But maybe a toadstool on one side and then euphillyas on the other. That would be killer texture.

Still just doesn’t solve what to do in the middle area of the frag tank. I’m going to have to get maybe another goni or alveopora.
Green polyp toadstool won't be sorry

I was convinced that any rock/aquascaping I tried to do would be just a pile of rocks, so my largest purchase has been a centerpiece. I feel your pain! But imagine some nice SPS growing out from the tops of both your islands and completing the tunnel. I wouldn’t put anything there, just line the walls with coral. Picture fish swimming between a bunch of grown out colonies on either side and above them, with the white sand below. Really nice tank man!

That’s too kind! I envision the same. I don’t think I’m going to place any rocks back there. I think this is a good use case of a magnetic coral rack and a grown out colony as you mentioned.

Great suggestion.

My ex was a peach as well. Put a shark in my ornamental goldfish tank. Some of the tails were 6". Came home to one survivor. He only had one eye when I found him. Horrible. I'm very sorry anyone else ever experienced this.

Can we beat the s*** out of him as well?

On a more melancholy and domesticated note, I don’t know what frags I want next :/

I know a few specific pieces but am kind of struggling with how I want to piece my vision together.

I can’t find anything I like these days.

Anyone go through this?
Yes, I was looking for a nice platygyra frag since I started my tank. In the mean time I have filled the tank up and dont really have any more room. Yesterday at the lfs, I saw a nice hand-sized colony of bright green Platy. It was only $145 but I dont have room for it. Moral of the story, save space for that one thing you really want but haven't found yet.

I’m already getting one! He’s fish #2.
There’s been a poor big tailspot st my lfs for months that I want to get. The big guy deserves a good home.
Nice choice!

^^maybe one day! Gonna need a new tank first lol

Hey all, my filter sock has been getting clogged very quickly with the bacteria blooms and overfeeding while battling these dinos. I have been washing the sock with tap water, and then rinsing it well with rodi before I put it back into the sump. Is this a good practice? Am I running a risk of contaminating the water? Or am I overthinking this?

"Dear Mommy, daddy added a new fish today without consulting me!
It is the smallest fish in the tank apart from my nano gobies.
Luckily for him it is very cute so we are going to let him off!" ;)

I’m still somewhat in the aquarium doghouse after adding fish without consulting the SO...that was a year ago! I think you made a better choice than I did though

If that’s bad then I’m screwed!

I rinse my filter floss sponge out all the time this way. The hotter the better. Then, a quick plunge and shake into a cup of Aquafina. Repeat with the filter media (my bag of Matrix only gets the Aquafina plunge though...don’t want that chlorine touching my bacteria!). on water change day I clean everything in the old water, but in a 28g I don’t want to be constantly removing tank water for everything.
