Learning CAD and having 3d printers has come in handy so many times. I'm using the BRS dosing containers and lost one of the lids. 45 min in cad and one short print away from having a replacement.

Doing a little bit of work this weekend on the controller board. This seems excessive, but oh well. The DOS will be doing auto water changes, and I'll use BRS dosing pumps for two part. I'll mount them on the backside. I'll set this up so I can access the back when needed. I don't need all of those apex modules, but I have the mounts for them so I'm planning for the future. Going to drill holes and get everything ready, then I'll paint the board black.

I got a little bit done; that will probably be it until next weekend. Lots more homework and another exam this coming Friday. I still have a ton of wire to run and organize. Plus, I'm waiting on another 1.1 ml pump from BRS. I'm also going to replace both of the hose pieces inside my old 1.1 ml. I'm unsure if they need it, but they have been sitting for a while, so I figured it's better to be safe than sorry. Next weekend, I have some holes to drill in the cabinet, and hopefully, I will get the rest of the wires run. I'll have everything I need except wavemakers, but I won't need them for a little bit, so I'm not worried about it.

Most of the controller is on the front, but I did put my dosing pumps and an EB4 on the back. The EB4 is probably overkill, but I have two of them, so I might as well use one. The EB4 will be dedicated to my dosing pumps, and I'll plug it into an EB832 so I can turn the entire dosing system off if need be.

I want to utilize float switches in my ATO buckets, and my dosing containers. Neither can mount one so I designed a very simple one in CAD. Got it printing now, well, see if it works as well as I hope. I figured I'll glue it down to whatever I put it in.

I found this little gem on Thingiverse: a nice little pump stand with a spot to mount your optical sensor. I had the sensor mounted to the outside with a magnant but I like this better.

We are making water! It is such a strange statement, but we are nonetheless. I am only running mixed DI at the moment. My original plan was to go freshwater on this tank, so my RO/DI game wasn't going to be as intense. However, when these beds are depleted, I'll order the anion and cation and mixed and run it like I used. I replaced the membrane and all the other filters; I wanted to start fresh. I'm on well water, and I know it's hard, but it doesn't seem to have a very high TDS, surprisingly.

I retract my previous statement. I'm still showing 45-50 TDS after the membrane but 0 after the DI resin. I'm hoping there is something wrong with the TDS monitor. Otherwise, I'm going to burn through some DI.

This tank is slow and steady, for sure. I ordered a new 1.1ml BRS dosing pump and new tubes for the ones I already have. I used bulkheads to run through my cabinet. Got all the tubing ran for it tonight. Tomorrow, I'm going to pick up some buckets and hopefully get my automatic water change tubing run. Then it's just more wiring.

Not much has changed, I got some more wires ran and got the holes drilled in my cabinet for my wire grommets. The apex is powered up and running, and I have started messing with that. I'm excited to have the apex, but staring at the dashboard feels overwhelming. I had an apex on my last tank, but it was less advanced. I still had the classic and just used the basic setup stuff. This one has a lot more, and I've added all the optical sensors, and it's all just a lot. But I enjoy figuring stuff like that out, so it's all good.

Not much as changed, ran some more wires and am trying to do some wire management. However, I am not very good at it. I decided to give these new jebao powerheads a try and see how it goes. I hope they work well. So far people seem to be happy with them. I got two of them, shouldn't even need all the power they have.

The slow progress is still going. I got some more wiring done, the lights are up, and the program is set. I'm trying to make sure I label everything in the apex as I go so I'm not too lost. We leave on Saturday for the cruise, so I'll be gone from R2R for a week. See you all later!

Still catching up from the vacation, so I haven't done much, seems to be a theme with this build. However I did make a base for my reactors. They are the BRS ones and they are designed to be mounted and don't stand well. So I designed a little base for them. Got one printed and it works great.
