This is how I got my son into the hobby (Started him out on a FW and then he asked to change it to SW after seeing a flaming prawn goby in the shop) he loves it, addicted to the fish and now we’re both learning the corals at the same time. I let him choose what he wanted as live stock in the tank and we help eachother out, I do research on certain inverts he wants and he helps research different fish with me.This! That's fantastic. I learned saltwater with my dad too. We had a really neat cold water tank and used to go collecting fish and inverts from the southern CA tide pools on the weekends. This is how I got my son into the hobby (Started him out on a FW and then he asked to change it to SW after seeing a flaming prawn goby in the shop) he loves it, addicted to the fish and now we’re both learning the corals at the same time. We often sit at the table as a “gathering” to sort out what our dream fish/coral/invert is, we both agreed on a fish, He took the Pintail and I took the Axilspot hogfish and the corals we have agreed it depends on pricing and colours, he likes the more light colours and I like the neutral colours so we chose to go for some of the duller reds, greens, whites and spots of other colours.
I would have to crunch the numbers but. I originally got a great deal on a big piece probably about 4” in every dirrecion that was in May 1st. I cut in half and a small frag broke off. Sorry for the crappy pictures.I have a question about the growth speed, is it Staghorn speed (Like 2-3cm every week)
Pocilopora can spread randomly throughout the tank even if you isolate it. Fairly easy to remove the new bits though. Thanks! Definitely will get those. I’ll try to isolate it.
