Hello,

I don't know whether to iodine dip and blast that algae off the center of this acropora or not. In fact I've never seen anything like this. Your ideas will be much appreciated.

Also let me know if you have any idea as to why this stupid pulsating xenia won't open up.

Water parameters are
1.025
8.3 pH
9 alk
460-480ppm CA
0 nitrates

Is water flow too low for the acro and too much for the xenia maybe? they are on different flow areas of the tank, but who knows.

About the only thing you can do with your acro is to watch your nutrients and you can blow it off to keep debris from building up. I would add some Lugol's (Iodine) to your tank, just a couple of drops!!, and see if that will cause them to open up. When I had them years ago, that's how I got them to open up.

I put a drop into 30 gallons and now my yellow tang is freaking out and turning white. What should I do besides the obvious water change in the morning?
